yeah that's it, insurance salesmen, look they both beat the best golfers in the world of their time. But a ton of the guys in that era were also world class athletes. Arnold Palmer, Snead, Gary Player were all physical studs.
I mean boxers smoked in the 60's

Yup. Palmer could drive it 300 yards with a wooden driver the size of today's putter heads and a 100-compression balata covered ball.

The field Jack faced in his prime was not as deep as what Tiger faced, but it was much more top heavy.
