I think part of it is due to the fricked up QB situation in DC for years.
RG3 got hurt and was never the same. Alex Smith had a Theisman-esque leg break. Kirk Cousins could have been a solution but the front office continually lowballed him because they thought he wasn’t the answer.
They have all this happen and need a new QB... who promptly shits the bed in a major way and can’t behave himself.
Not that Cousins would have been hugely better as much as they’d have had to pay him after each season of the franchise tag, but keeping a mid-high first to bring in talent would have paid off better than blowing a pick because Snyder had a halfassed connection to him.

I don't understand how people say this about Haskins at all. He was picked middle of the first round, and there are QBs taken in the top 10 annually who have been as bad as him
Edit: maybe not top 10 but guys like Tebow and Manziel are just as bad as he has been, and he has a chance still
Agreed, its really unfair to him that he's in a shite situation and he hasn't done himself favors but the constant media shitstorm about him is stupid.
16 games: 60.1 completion%, 6.3 YPA, 12 TD, 14 INT, 74.4 Rating
compared to:
20 games: 54.8 completion%, 5.7 YPA, 12 TD, 19 INT, 63.5 Rating (Josh Rosen)
38 games: 59.8 completion%, 6.6 YPA, 45 TD, 39 INT, 78.6 Rating (Sam Darnold)
27 games: 62.2 completion%, 6.6 YPA, 35 TD, 22 INT, 84.1 Rating (Daniel Jones)
Yet Sam Darnold doesn't get shite on nearly as much and 'needs to go to a better situation', Daniel Jones 'still has promise', and Josh Rosen was 1000x more of an immature prick than Haskins yet nobody calls him that nonsense.

This is false. Darnold isn’t a good QB but he also isn’t a dumbass being a shitty teammate.

Because he does. The Giants offense is him, Barkley, one decent tackle and dookie

That’s straight up bullshite. People were criticizing Rosen a year before he was even draft eligible. He was basically Los Angeles Liberal Manziel.

But The point is all of those guys were taken higher than Haskins and have performed at about the same bad level. The coaches in Washington were pissed the owner has his guy and they didn’t agree. It was a bad situation but he’s not one of the biggest busts ever

Rosen? Sure. Darnold? Eh. Jones? Lol no.

He didn’t even make it halfway through his rookie contract. He’s the second worst pick in the first round of his draft thus far.

Ok so that doesn’t make him one of the biggest busts of all time...just because he hasn’t panned out and may not doesn’t put him in that category.
Rosen was top 10 and Darnold was top 5. Those contacts are much worse

Rookie deals and Darnold is still starting. At least he made it two full seasons (3). You’re grasping for straws on this. Haskins, like many Ohio State players, is a bust. You knighting for him on here and trying to rationalize it away won’t change that. Maybe he makes something of himself in Pittsburgh, but I wouldn’t count on it. Even then, he was still a bust for the team that drafted him.

Well I mean if he was the 2nd biggest bust in his draft...and there are guys like Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell as QB busts, then he's ALREADY not one of the biggest all time busts. Let's add Jason Smith and Trent Richardson while we're at it. Oh and Justin Gilbert

Haskins, like many Ohio State players, is a bust.
Every school has tons of busts, but Haskins isn't even the biggest one since 2000 for OSU. Vernon Gholston was a way bigger bust at a position not nearly as hard to grasp as QB.
You have a lot of problems seemingly understanding that I agree he's a bust thus far, but he's not one of the biggest busts in NFL history like some have claimed.

So a guy who can't hold his liquor and always wants to party gets sent to Miami looking for a fresh start.
Are you under the impression that it’s hard to get drunk in Nashville?
Yea,I don't think Miami is an ideal place. Maybe Green Bay might his best bet?
Probably saved Bret Favre's career/life getting traded up there.

NFL players can get plenty fricked up in any NFL city they want to

It’s a lot harder to find a party in Green Bay or Buffalo than Miami, NYC, or LA.

It’s not hard in any of the cities is the point, especially for an NFL player alcoholism/substance abuse isn’t cured by a lack of options I can promise you

It's starting to look like they were right. The Vikings once had a loaded roster that has been decimated because of how much they're paying Cousins, and he isn't good enough to make a decent roster into a Super Bowl contender.
Posted on 3/9/21 at 8:40 am to VADawg
Cousins could have been kept by the Skins for far less than what the Vikings paid but they kept franchising him for one year deals.
Like I said... not necessarily a great QB but better than what they got out of Haskins and that oick could have come in handy.

You think pro FB player had the same opportunities to get in trouble in Green Bay compared to Atlanta in the early 90's?
LMFAO!

That’s not really what I’m saying. I just know both cities provide plenty of opportunities to get into as much trouble or to drink as much as they want there’s plenty of liquor stores, bars, women, etc etc in NFL cities, especially with the opportunities you get provided as an NFL player
It’s a silly argument. If you have substance issues, or can’t handle your alchohol and it effects your work, you’re going to find a way to do that no matter where you live in.
There’s a reason people get sent to rehab and not sent to Wyoming

For a young kid fresh out of college just getting started in that life style?
C'mon.
He was out in Buckhead chasing tail and chopping lines multiple times a week. Not close to the same temptations especially for a young guy just out of college.

Yes. 100 percent. It’s insane to suggest that NFL players in NFL cities would be hard pressed to find shite to do in their free time

Garbage.
It's not like he was a middle age man that had the issue for years.
You know there are stages of substance abuse and you also know that limiting opportunities for addicts is part of getting healthy.
