EVERY government contract is controlled by politics

If you have ever had to deal with any government, ours or other countries you’d know it

I’ve absolutely been involved in strategic basing decisions, both from base level prep and from D.C. Strat basing is largely an economic decision based upon a long analysis process of short and long term beddown costs. Politics does come into play as states/cities present their best case, but you can’t just ignore the beddown or sustainment costs, which play a much larger role.

If they ignored costs and directed a bad decision, then the IG should absolutely be involved.
