On Vets
Solid poboys and country food.
Been 3 times now and enjoyed it every time.
Prices are low too.

That’s the one that used to be downtown? I always enjoyed it.

I never heard of this place until now. I wish I would have read this thread a few hours earlier. One those Oyster, Bacon & Brie Po-Boys would be in my belly right now.

Is that the place that was Sammy’s, near Oaklawn?

Used to go a ton when it was downtown. Have only been once or twice since they moved, but I think it was a smart decision. Besides the pandemic affecting their business, their CBD spot flooded maybe 3 or 4 times within a 2 year span.
Regarding the poboys, it may sound different, but don’t sleep on the Shrimp n Greens poboy. It’s fried shrimp with greens cooked down in bbq sauce with nothing else on it. My favorite item on the menu. It’s pretty rich but highly recommend.
The owner is a nice guy with a younger family, and he always seemed like a really good dude as well.

I heard great things about this place Thursday morning. I need to try it out.

I’ve enjoyed it the few times I’ve been. They have a very good Reuben

Is this the place that was on iirc Gravier st in NO a few years ago? That place was great, the chef is a huge Saints fan and came out and talked my head off after seeing my Tecmo Bowl Saints shirt, very nice people
