Poor bastard probably makes north of $40/hr and has damn near since he started as a journeyman. Especially while you were shelling out $5k/ year for a college degree to make less money. And I say that as someone with a college degree myself.
There’s a lot to shite on people’s career choices. Going into the trades ain’t one of them. Or feel free to learn to fix your own toilets, air conditioner, and electrical work. Those guys professions are going to be in such high demand within a decade you’ll be begging for someone to come work on your shite.

My A/C guy has his MBA. He makes more money running his A/C company than working a white collar job.

We trying to set the OT record this week for the number of threads addressing the noblesse oblige of tradesmen?
Think it was already summed up that being a tradesman that owns the business can be lucrative. But being a tradesman that works for a business isn’t the ideal approach to achieve upper middle class status.

If they are running their own solo business it’s more like $35 per quarter hour after the minimum call charge for coming out.

While I agree that tradesman can definitely make bank, where are you getting a college degree for $5k a year. I'm pretty sure even a juco is more than that. My kids dorm his 1st semester of college was north of $6k.

I see l, sarcasm meter broken or my post was poorly crafted. Either way apologies to the plumbers I offended. My half bath was hemorrhaging so it was an easy $350 to scratch out.

Unless my child were truly gifted and could excel in a STEM field, there is absolutely no way I'd steer them in any direction other than a trade.
shite, even if they were gifted and COULD excel in a STEM field, if their demeanor suited the trades better, I'd steer them that direction.
Someone's going to have to overcharge the soy boys to fix simple shite and satisfy their women. You think these three buttplugs know anything about fixing simple shite around a house?

Why would you go to college for a profession that pays less than 40 an hour? I know people do, they either love their job, or they're morons that got fricked by the system believing they had to go to college.
