...and the surrounding area in 2 weeks (early March). Any recommendations for restaurants or things to do/see?

Country music tells me you're about to lose EVERYTHING
People who go to Cheyenne come back to nothing lol
That's all I've got. Never been there

I went there once (drove up from Denver for the day) and was severely unimpressed.

I have a commercial property there. Its a really nice community. Its high elevation but fairly flat. March is not the best time to be there as I'm sure you realize.
- Its friggin' windy. All the time and unrelenting. Most people don't understand what I mean until they spend a few days in it.
- They have 2-3 good museums that are worth a couple of hours. One is at the Depot and one is an Old West Museum IIRC. Its been awhile since I've attended. There's also a botanical garden but I haven't been there.
- Downtown has a historical district you may want to check out.
- Food is kind of meh. Accomplice is a brewery there that's decent.
- There's a Taqueria that has Guadalajara in the name that's good, and there's a good Korean place and a couple of good pizza places.
Cheyenne is about 50k residents so these places will be easy to Google. Great people in Cheyenne. Hopefully you're not driving from SLC to Cheyenne because that drive is a surefire cure for insomnia. I forgot to mention that Ft. Collins, CO is only 40 minutes from Cheyenne and definitely work checking out as well if you have the time. Its a larger town with a bit more to do, depending on what you're interested in.

The rodeo man in “I Can Still Make Cheyenne” made the right choice. That’s all I got.

The beaches are fantastic.

Drove up one day from Denver last summer. Didn’t seem like there was a whole lot to do. Went to Black Tooth Brewery, decent place for beer and food. One good thing is that The Wyoming population is so low that they aren’t super strict with covid rules. Granted this was last summer, but going from Denver to Cheyenne was like two different worlds based on covid protocol. Going to that brew pub was like going somewhere for beers in 2019.

Have stayed in the area for a couple hunting trips. We stayed in an Airbnb about 20 min west of Cheyenne. Granite Hills I think area was called. Real nice couple own house where they rent out three different rooms in house on large ranch. Great place to stay. We also went eat at Bunkhouse Bar and Grill which is NW of Cheyenne. Really enjoyed the steaks, live music and atmosphere. North of Cheyenne is Chugwater, Wy. Known for their chili. Not sure why. I ate chili in an old diner in Chugwater and met a local rancher. Ended up getting a tour of his ranch, shot an antelope on his place and made a friend. The town of Cheyenne is kinda blah. I would like to go back one July and go to Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Take a drive to Laramie and tour the Territorial Prison.
When I travel, I try to find an interesting site that I call that state's "World's Largest Ball of Tinfoil". So far, this is in the running to be Wyoming's along with the model railroad exhibit at the Depot Museum in Cheyenne.

We drove up from Loveland for the day 2 summers ago to see the air show at the Air Force Academy. Ate at Sanford’s, it was good, kids enjoyed it. We shopped a little, but really, not a lot going on in Cheyenne.

Well I ate at a Hardees or McDonalds there once. I can't remember.

Cheyenne is kind of meh. Ft. Collins and Laramie are more fun cities.
Roosevelt national Forrest is a pretty drive and will take you to Estes Park.

We went to Frontier Days when I was younger. We did the Lane Frost museum, etc., but then hit the road.

I worked in Cheyenne at Sierra Trading Post HQ and lived in Fort Collins for several years. There wasn't much in Cheyenne back then, and I'm not sure that there is much more, now. Sierra Trading Post outlet is there, and it's worth checking out. Used to have amazing sales, especially in their closeout department.
Vedauwoo Recreation Area is pretty cool. Really good rock climbing.
Fort Collins is only an hour south, so I'd probably go there at least once, as it's an amazing town.
