There's always some stupid Republicans that feel like they need to vote with the dims to show they're "bipartisan". Why are there never any dims that want to vote their conscience?

My theory is they know they’ll be lauded in the media as the media is the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. They are narcissistic low principle people

Exactly. Nancy would not be pleased and would make their time in the swamp miserable. They're slaves.

I’m sure you’d have 6-7 that would vote bipartisan If a democratic president caused an insurrection. The rest would be cowards.

To Democrats, bipartisanship means Republicans voting with them, not vice versa.

This vote should not have even been as close as it was to 2/3. In a sane world, it would have been 57-43 (or better) the other way. That’s the bipartisan that should happen.

Because Dems have the cover of the media and don’t have to care. Plus, if you aren’t constrained by morals, you don’t have to worry about your actions.

The farther right you get on the political scale the less unanimity. That's why libertarians see the word 'consensus' as vulgar.

disagree. The democrats are crooks. ALL OF THEM. Most repubs, too, but you can’t get to the table as a Dem without being dirty. That is how they control their people: LEVERAGE. Any Dem grows a conscious, they are outted for their misdeeds, and another corrupt cockroach takes their place

The swamp is held together through blackmail and corruption and they stick together for self preservation, preserving the swamp power structure

Because to a Democrat "bipartisan" means submission to their whim. "Bipartisan" to a Republican means stabbing your constituents in the back when pandering for money while telling everybody about your (alleged) conservative values. See: Bill Cassidy and Mitt Romney.

During the ACA voting around 2009, the DNC used carrot-and-stick tactics with their own people in the House and Senate.

Carrots in the form of promises of pork spending, and lining of pockets I’m sure.

Sticks in the form of threats to pull future campaign funding.

The combination is effective for block voting, and I believe they employ it often. I’m told the gatekeeper for campaign funding on that side was Pelosi a few years ago. Don’t know if that’s the case now, but if so it’s a shrewd move on her part.
