He would start. We primarily play a 4-2-5. And a 3rd corner is one of the biggest weaknesses on the team with the inconsistency and constant giving up of big plays from Flott and Ward and also Miller has 2 years left of eligibility.

He’s a RS Jr. He has two seasons left.

When LSU last recruited him he was a CB/S hybrid. He’d pretty much start with this group in the secondary, not sure what you’re talking about

Whether we look at a CB or not will come down to how the staff feels about Ward, Flott, McG and Evans. Like Clark, Flott looked good in 2019, so maybe they think Pelini and his scheme were the problem, or that these guys are ready to step up. Add to this the fact that Ward and McG showed promise in the last two games. We also can’t discount how awful the Safeties were last year.

This one is hard to read from the outside before the staff reacts. If we don’t chase another CB, that tells me they don’t see the returning cast minus Stingley and Ricks as the weakness we do after their 2020 struggles. At least it will mean that they aren’t our primary weakness. If the staff does chase a CB in the portal, then they likely aren’t very confident in the other returning guys.

I have a feeling we won’t be chasing anyone other than a sure-fire starter before spring is over and the new staff gets a feel for what they have and may still need.

I forgot about this year not counting

I just feel like they can get by without him at corner next year

Better players will come through.

Auburn is after him hard. He’s projected to get drafted next year as a 2-4 round pick from some sites. Wish LSU would go after him. Grades out well with PFF as a cover guy and is a willing tackler as well. He’d make for one hell of an addition to the defensive backfield and would be a good use of the 25th spot.

another guy they wanted in the spot.

Ish Sopsher? That was his year. We ended up taking Desmond Little with our last spot because Sop went to Bama.
