quote:
The greatest collaboration the industry has seen was presented yesterday at the PCA, Carlos Carlito Fuente Jr. blended a cigar to honor Jose Orlando Padron, Jorge Padron blended a cigar to honor Carlos Fuente, over two years in the making that will go down in history ????????
That is the quote from José Blanco who is basically working with Tabacalera A. Fuente, these days.
Cigar Journal article
quote:
Carlos A. Fuente, Sr. and José O. Padrón were friends and colleagues for over 50 years. They shared common bonds – a passion for the finest Cuban cigar-making traditions and deep respect for their family names. They passed these values on to their children. Their sons, Carlito Fuente and Jorge Padrón, together with their families, have partnered to honor and remember the Fuente and Padrón family patriarchs. For the first time, the families are collaborating on a joint project, a commemorative 40-cigar box in honor of their fathers and their legacies.
quote:
In keeping with their fathers’ tradition of giving, a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of this collaboration will be donated to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation and the Padrón Family Foundation.

Almost hate to give away this not-so-secret gem… one of my top 5 and I’ve smoked some greats.

Speaking of gems, Montecristo by AJ Fernandez are so good. My only issue is that they’re box pressed. Not sure why it bothers me, but it’s really not necessary in modern production rooms

Agree on our adoration of those, but I actually enjoy slightly boxed pressed.

When I finally tried an Andalusian Bull, a few years ago, I was severely disappointed. It's a fine cigar, but for the price, and all the accolades, it simply did not measure up to unrealistic expectations. Kind of sad really since Litto makes great cigars.

On of my favorite sticks and some Michter's Bourbon. Great way to start the weekend.

First time having this one. Great smoke.

That's a very good stick!

I was really impressed. It smoked for a while, really consistent. This thread turned me on to the my father cigars. This one was probably my favorite I’ve done so far.

They are very consistent, and find a few that you like and keep them in your rotation. You will not be disappointed.

Yea I’ve really enjoyed every one I’ve had. Been impressed with how deep down the stick they’ve been able to be enjoyably smoked.

Just a shoutout to JR. I’ve been a customer for 20+ years and had an issue with using a coupon they sent me on some discounted cigars. The agent on the phone was able to push it through and saved me some money.

Where’d you find that? I haven’t seen one in a long time at my B&M and they’re always sold out online.
Been a while since I posted here. Enjoying a Joya de Nicaragua Copper tonight. I’ve never had it before and it may make its way into the rotation.

Surprised the B&M had a box of these. I’ve been wanting to try this one since it released.
Waiting until later tonight when everyone’s asleep to smoke this one. It’ll determine if I need to stop back in tmmw morning and get a few more for the humi.

What is y'alls opinion on a travel (xikar plastic humidor) with 72% bovedas as the home humidor?
It also has foam separators which i don't mind.
I see seasoned smokers not caring at all that their smokes don't sit in a spanish cedar humidor.
I open mine every other day, or so.
But what do you think about the 72%?

I have the black plastic Xikar travel box.
Would not use it as a home humidor.
Xikars quality has gone down a ton, and the gasket ring that line the box doesn’t last long at all.
