Winter rye to summer centipede.

Every year my centipede lawn turns to a mud hole in the winter. I finally had enough of the dogs tracking mud in the house and threw out rye grass seed. It took very well and I have a nice green rye grass lawn right now.
So, with spring around the corner, should I be taking any steps to transition? Will the rye die off and centipede take over? Do I need to over seed with centipede? Am I screwed?
Explain it to me like I’m 5.

Rye dies in the heat and centipede grows in the heat. You don’t need to do anything. If you use msm for your weed killer then you can spray it on the rye when your centipede is greening up. Msm kills rye.

I also planted winter rye this year. Excuse the ignorance, what is msm?
