Dropped my CCP application off and got fingerprinted at LSP in Baton Rouge this morning. Anyone know how long it's taking these days to get the permit in the mail?

All I can say is that I mailed my prints in on December 21st. Have not received the email to submit payment yet. I called them last week, and after about 25 attempts, I got through. They told me that the latest mail in print forms they have gotten to so far are from August.

In other words, they are ~5 months behind on mail in fingerprint forms. So I'm expecting to get the email to submit my payment around mid May...

Not sure how long it takes after the payment for that is submitted.

I, as well as others who have gone this route, have found that submitting all documents and application online then going directly to State Police HQ to get printed has been the fastest way to get your CCP. Took me 12 days from the time I submitted online to getting CCP in the mail.

Renewed in December

For what it's worth, our instructor said they're intentionally slowing the paper applications by processing online applications first and clearing that queue.

Submitted my online renewal application on 12/29 and haven't heard anything yet. It's complete bullshite.

Is there a way you can check on the status?

I emailed LSP after reading the thread asking for an update. I received an email from them saying approved with a payment link 2 hrs later.

They answer email now??? That's great! When I got my first CCP about 10 years ago, they didn't answer email and didn't have a voice mail option on their phone line to leave a message.

Thanks for the tip about emailing them

My renewal was in the hopper for a couple months but about 2 hours after emailing them it was approved and they sent a link to pay

Apparently emailing them to ask the status is the way to get to the front of the line

Just got approved

I was shocked I actually received a response and the approval was even more shocking.
