McKnight also had fumbling problems his frosh year, iirc.

This is the main issue. McKnight accounted for 30 something % of USC's fumbles last year while being a situational player. He's bulked up 20 pounds and hasn't lost a step but it's still a concern

I've been preaching it lately. I want Micheal more then any other RB right now. We are passing up on a beast, if rumors are true. I have to believe this kid has a committable offer and just hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

I guess that's all a matter of opinion:

quote:

If he goes to USC, he's gonna win the Heisman," Orgeron said. "His tape is better than Reggie's high school tape. If he comes to Oxford, we'll change the bricks on Manning Way to McKnight Way."

In the scrimmage video on the board he mentioned something about "when they (LSU) are ready"...

then he added "my parents told me to relax, take your time"...he had a huge smile

I said ever seen...as in with my own eyes, not video

And I think McKnight was better than Devine and as good as Bush... I was never as enamored when it came to Devine as many were... yeah, he was great in the open field but Joe is much more complete player and it's not really close

LSU has established runners. USC doesn't really

because 8 of them split carries?

using stats to support this argument is dumb, especially when considering McKnight wasn't as strongly in the RB fold until later in the season

it's as dumb as giving Ian Johnson more credit than Keiland Williams just because Ian starts and piles up stats that dwarf over Keiland's

McKnight plays in a weak conference where there's USC and everybody else. His best game came against a Big 10 team, nuff said about that.

you must have missed his Hoover game when he went into their house and single-handedly urinated on their storied tradition

Joe McKnight went in right away at USC and made an impact on a roster filled with 5-stars.

dude you dont know what the hell your talking about, one of those 5* transfered to FL, and like two or three other 5*'s were injured which opened the door for McKnight,

I'm not saying that he wouldn't have received playing time last yr, but it would not have been that much.

I've watched it or played it at a high level most Friday nights since the late 80s and I've never seen better in person

I was referring to his college performances to this point. Last I checked, Hoover was not a D1 football program. Not saying he's not a good back, but I'll wait a couple more years before I crown him the king of college football. At this point, hard to say who's gonna be the better back. After all, Michael and Richardson are just starting their senior years. Only after the season, will anyone be able to make a fair comparison.

They just made true to their promise to play him his TF year.. I dont think it has to do with him being head and shoulders better than everyone USC has.. just imo.

Answering the original post, Michael is thicker than both McKnight and Murphy and also shorter than both of them (although he and McKnight are probably near the same height).

All three are good receivers and Michael and McKnight each have a step on Murphy. That being said, Murphy could have a bigger sophomore season than McKnight. On paper, Murphy doesn't quite stack up to the other two but when you step on the field he does.

Murphy and Michael played in similar offensive schemes in high school while McKnight played in the veer. I think it says a lot for McKnight that he had a nice freshman campaign going straight from Louisiana "2A ball" (as it was put) to USC.

you cant pass on an athlete like CM. If he is the best back he will rise to the top of the depth chart, if not he will start at some position before he is done at LSU if he is offered and comes here. Usually the top athlete on the team plays QB or RB in high school and got to believe he could be a great DB or WR if things wouldnt work out for him at RB.

I don't think any school will move him to a different position, although he could definitely play multiple positions.

He's such a natural at RB that I think you would move someone else to another position first.
