I have lived in USVI since 2009 with the exception of 2016 after the hurricanes. This gave me the opportunity to vote one last time. Retirement will be in Panama or Costa Rica. We are looking at spending extended intervals in Southern Spain, France, and Italy strictly for the views of mountains and the Med. Not for their politics. I have seen most of the USA and live coast to coast. It is beautiful. Most of the people are beautiful. The govt/media/social media looks to abandon and demonize half of the citizens. I see that pendulum maintaining or gaining momentum. Call me paranoid but I see dark days ahead.

Let’s all pray they aren’t.
Enjoy your travels.

It was a poorly placed rubber bullet
Shite sucks but she was not smart doing what she did.

Ok, then explain why these two different circumstances were treated differently:
They’re treated differently by the media because Ashli is the face of a movement the media despises.
They’re treated differently by Judge et al. because they think she’s stupid and can find no empathy for her.

This is undeniable.

JudgeHolden does your standard apply to urban policing situations ? Advance on a cop or otherwise continue to fight with one and the shooting is justified ?
Posted on 1/21/21 at 6:00 am to JudgeHolden
So cops can shoot you now for not listening to them?

So shooting unarmed people is good now?
I wouldn't say "good", but justifiable if they are trying to attack members of congress.

No. They didn’t. One cop did. The other cops were milling around, not really sure of what they were doing.
This.
If you watch the video of her shooting, there were cops milling about the crowd of rioters just before the incident. They were making their way back down the stairs when the gun shot rang out. Clearly they didn't seem to care that a crowd of rioters - busy busting the glass and trying to physically get through the barricade - was about to cross the line they had drawn.
Nor did the guy who was casually walking toward them on the other side of the barricade. He was little ways down the hall, but you could see a person in a suit making their way toward the barricade from the opposite side just before Babbitt was shot. He wasn't running, he wasn't yelling at her to stop, he was just walking.
The only cop who drew the line was the cop who was hiding himself off to the side, inside the door way, where he couldn't be seen by the rioters. Had he actually been standing in their line of sight, I'm pretty sure Ashli Babbitt would still be alive.

I didn't see any members of Congress in that video.

What member of Congress was she trying to attack? I assume they were within feet of her but I haven’t heard their name. Thanks for clearing this up.

What's so special about members of Congress?

I think it’s sad as hell. I don’t think the LEO who shot her should be doxxed. And I don’t see that as different.

He doesn’t believe that members of Congress are special. He believes Ashli’s life is less valuable because of what she believed. If she was a person of color rioting for her rights, he would believe very different things about this shooting.

People just want to know his name.

It was plainclothes Capitol police.
Fair enough, I have no idea. The anonymity of the officer gave me the assumption that it was SS.

I agree with you here. You also believe it was a good shoot. I have questions.

One literally passed through there just 2-3 minutes before she tried to climb through the window. They were still fairly close.

Some people would like to trade pounds of flesh. That’s not healthy. That’s a base animal impulse we’re going to have to rise above if we want to win a raging philosophical battle.

Really? I am sorry I didn't know a small arse woman was a danger to someone who was in the room previously..forgive me.
