Brookgreen Gardens, which is south of Murrells Inlet, has a zoo and I believe boat rides on the river. Been to the gardens but did do the boat ride. Huntington Beach State Park is across the highway and those two places have an historical connection.
Murrells Inlet has a chain of restaurants with a board walk along the water and usually one or two of those will have live music. There are 8 or so restaurants there.
Farther north, on the way to North MB, is an alligator farm. There are many putt-put golf places. There is a Ferris wheel and touristy stuff like Ripley’s. Kids usually like that sort of thing.
