I played basketball my whole life and then I coached it a little bit after college. If you have a perfect gameplan and your opponent is shooting 60% from outside (21-35 as of right now) than there is nothing you can do.

Anyone who has ever played basketball knows this. This is not about coaching or poor gameplanning. Alabama just simply went nuts tonight and is making more triples than I have ever seen a college team make.

Grinnel made 42-88 to set the record.

The point is, this blowout was simply how they could not miss and nothing more. Move on to UK

Again, this transcends game plans and game-day coaching. Will Wade does not produce teams that play hard, play smart and play with pride. And unfortunately for us, all of those things, along with proper fundamentals, are required to play good defense.

Nope...we have had consistently bad perimeter defense under Wade. I think he’s a good coach overall, but this has been a consistent problem

It's easy to just say "well, they can't miss, nothing we can do".

But if LSU would make these guys uncomfortable, and make them have to move off their spots and rush shots, they wouldn't be able to get comfortable. Just standing in place and jumping up with a hand in the air is NOT all there is to defending the three. You have to contest passing lanes and make guys have to move and fight to get open. Alabama is spot up shooting.

But that isn't the only thing: There is no interior defense. Virtually every time the ball goes down low, it's an automatic two. If Alabama were only shooting 35% from 3, it would still be a blowout.

Obviously, SOME of this is just kind of a one game fluky thing. But you don't EVER get beat by FORTY at home and chalk that up to bad luck. There is far more to it than that. Is it time to give up on the season? Of course not. Does that make this performance any less troubling? Not to me , it doesn't.

Yeah dont criticize WW. He is beyond reproach and may possibly be God disguised as a basketball coach. You're an idiot if you want this team to play hard and think its the coach's responsibility to make that happen.

He’s a decent coach but extremely overrated on this board

Even the resident TD board analysis knew they were gonna lift threes (kill zone) and crash long boards rather than box out. Not a good look.

When are y'all going to realize, he is the Les Miles of basketball. Take that for what it is. He is a great recruiter, strong on one side of the court and struggles with x's and o's and in game changes.

Alabama will never do that again. It wasn’t coaching, it was one team getting hot and not cooling off until it was too late

Exactly. And unfortunately with basketball he can’t mask his coaching deficiencies with great coordinators like O can so this is about as good as it will ever get.

Hell no. Especially not with his current defensive philosophy. He recruits good enough athletes to run and gun past most SEC teams. The issue is with teams that can actually shoot AND play defense.

Please find me a coach that will at LSU.

We are a football school. Then Baseball according to this board.

Us going and find a basketball coach to win a title is like Duke trying to Bring in a national champion caliber football coach.

The man so far has

NIT Second Round (following a 2-16 SEC season)
Sweet 16 (Didn’t coach postseason)
Projected 8 seed (season canceled)
Now we will likely fall between a 6-9 seed depending on how we finish the year

4 seasons 3 NCAAT teams.

Realistically that is all we need. Someone that will have a consistent NCAAT team with a chance to make a final four run when the stars align and a few guys come back instead of turning pro

Probably said the same thing about Ed Orgeron.

This board is obsessed with hating coaches. It will never end. The coach yall all want doesn't exist.

O is ten times the coach Wade is. Wade will never come close to a championship or the year O had. If he can't hire top assistant coaches that is on him.
