He was pitching for the Angels when he got his 300th win in 1986. I was working Rangers games for a company called Sports Network. Chuck Finley had been called up and flew from some place in Iowa to Arlington to join the team. Someone from the Ouachita Citizen called and asked me to interview Chuck.

Sutton pitched that night and won. That was his 301st win. As I was leaving the clubhouse I congratulated him on 300 and got him to sign the sheet of paper where I kept his pitching line. I think he put 301 after his name. No idea where it ended up.

I watched him on TBS so many times. He was a tremendous player and broadcaster.
