He had the #2 offense in the country in 2020 and 2019 @ UCF & #5 total offense in 2018.
I'm not high on the hire, but looking from the outside-in it doesn't look like his offense is the issue. What am I missing? I honestly know nothing about this guy and am genuinely curious
He hates to recruit! He is lazy! He just not that good of a HC!

I am very haapy since I wanted him at Missouri before Missouri hired Drinkwitz and I am happy with Drinkwitz because he is an offensive minded HC! That is what Missouri really needed and he is also a good recruiter.

Blamed it on Tennessee fans for protesting! That is what made the final decision to drop Schiano. Tennessee fans need to respect what the AD and school decision. Fulmer wasn't the right AD and should have backed off. It is all on Tennessee for taking on whatever Clay Travis said or tweeted about Schiano. Why do you think AD picked Schiano to be the next HC of Tennessee if he didn't think it was going to be a problem? He knew what he was doing in the first place and he lost his job because one report from Travis that the VOLS fans went nuts!

After Heupel has three full recruiting cycles, what will the program look like then?
Add in sanctions with scholarship reductions and rock bottom hasn't been reach yet.

What a lackluster, lazy and overall meh hire this was. Huepel doesn't even seem like a good fit at tennessee at all. I would be pretty steamed if I was a rocky topper.
Just seems like this had to be a home run hire for them If they had planned on digging their way out of the hole they've put themselves in. Now, it may take another decade before they can possibly get somewhat decent again. I just don't see huepel being the man to reinvigorate and rebuild that dumpster fire in knoxville. I could be wrong, but this doesn't seem like the way I would have wanted them to go.

Heupel also doesn't like to recruit. He said that when he was Missouri OC.
