Lane has it made in Oxford. World class women and lower expectations on the field than a place like UT. They'll give him a lot more time to build his program there.
I don't know why any coach would leave their current P5 head coaching job for UT. Clearly a place for coaches to die.

No, Ole Miss is NOT a better job than Tennessee. Never has been, never we will be. If Tennessee actually wants Lane Kiffin, then Lane Kiffin will be in Knoxville next year. He’s been texting powerful Tennessee boosters this week telling them he’s “ready to come home”.

Do you not realize that HCs are not going to take a job that is in a huge mess? Then probably will get fired in a couple of years or even 3 years. Then their reputation as a HC in a Power of 5 will be ruin. Will have to start over at a lower level conference. That is why Tennessee need to find someone who will be the sacrifice lamb when all the penalty on Tennessee is cleared to hire a good HC. Not when Tennessee is on probation and with all the disadvantage is going on at Tennessee. VOLS fans will have to wait about 3 or 4 years to get a good HC that will want to come to Tennessee.

Tennessee will always be a better job. Even with looming sanctions. And if Kiffin is simply offered the job, he will prove it’s a better job by taking it.
