Planning on visiting in March. Any recommendations on places to see, things to do?

Where are you flying into? San Jose or Liberia?

I'm assuming you are staying on the west coast, somewhere near Manuel Antonio?
There's a lot to do. Manuel Antonio Park is beautiful in itself with a lot of nature and gorgeous beaches.
Lots of beautiful beaches.
Go to the Poas Volcano. Up there it looks like Switzerland (not joking!) and get some strawberries and cheese up there. On the way down, tour the Starbucks plantation there, it is gorgeous and you can get some absolutely amazing, fresh coffee you can't get anywhere else.
I can't remember everything we did but do your research. THere are some really cool hidden beaches to go to, etc.
Whale cruises, first time I have actually seen multiple whales on one.

Yes. Manuel Antonio for a couple days at least. We have 8 full days and 9 nights. We plan on renting a vehicle and we like to explore a lot on our trips.

Manuel Antonio is awesome. Arenal volcano is cool to see and the Observatory Lodge is right at the base. Take the ferry out to Isla Tortuga (leaves from Jaco area). Great fishing all around (roosters inshore, billfish close offshore). So much to do there.

Playas del Coco is great

Go to Montezuma. Research everything around there. The waterfalls just west of town, Cabo Blanco, Mal Pais...
It’s the coolest place, next was Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Those are very far from each other though.
The area on top of the big waterfall out of Montezuma is, and you have to get up there if you go, one of the coolest spots you’ll ever see.

Not really. It’s kind of a dirty tourist trap now.
OP it sounds like you’re staying in the central and southern part of the country but if you want to relax for a few days I recommend the Andaz Papagayo.

If you're planning on visiting in March, you're in for a treat. One must-visit place is the Si Como No Resort in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. The resort is known for its beautiful surroundings and laid-back vibes. You can explore the pristine beaches, go hiking in the lush rainforest, or even spot wildlife in the national park. Other recommendations include visiting the Arenal Volcano, going on a thrilling zipline adventure, or simply relaxing in the natural hot springs. Costa Rica has something for everyone, and I'm sure you'll have an unforgettable trip!
