I have not heard a thing. My guess is, it's as good as one can expect coming out of a decently cold winter. Probably tight fairways if they have done what Links and Oakwing have done.

what has Oakwing and Links done?

Tamaka is in great shape and one of the best public tracks in the state along with Koasati and Golden Nugget

Cut the dormant Bermuda really low.

I couldn't agree more. I really like the layout. Those bunkers were unsustainable for the amount of rain we get.

Just got off & it’s in good shape for this time of year. Fairways are cut pretty tight & rough in some spots is deep. Greens were good.

Thanks for the update. Any advice? I haven’t played there in probably 20 years.

Find the fairways. We spent a lot of time looking for balls that drop to the bottom of the rough & we were standing right over them.

Lots of soft sand in the traps. They are in very good shape. But we did have 2 plugged lies in green side bunkers.

Greens were in good, not great shape. Rolled pretty true. Not overly fast but had plenty of speed.

Tamahka is one of my favorite courses in the state. Always in decent to perfect shape.

On 8, play 1-2 clubs short and left and let the ball trundle down the back slop of the left bunker onto the green.

I played last Sat at the conclusion of the APT tournament

Greens were the fastest I’ve seen in LA and the pins were where you’d expect them to be for pros

I picked 2 holes 25 feet apart on the practice green and putted uphill to one where the ball would stop an inch from the hole and roll back 12 seconds later to my feet

First one I made went past the hole 2 feet and came back into the hole. LOL

Ended up w a good score, 82 and enjoyed the 13 stimp conditions that you never get to see. Course was in great shape. No real significant rough

Oakwing's fairways have always been sparse, however since new management has taken over ( Elite Golf ) the fairways are mostly dead and dusty. I don't recommend playing there. The newest goat ranch in Louisiana.

They seem to be doing quite a bit of work on the course. I’m sure they’ll get it straightened out.

They have trimmed trees along the bayou and around some of the greens. That is the extent of the work. Course is holding water in a lot of places, greens are jacked up with poa annua, tee boxes are shite, I've already referenced the fairways and no one gives a frick.
Oh yea I almost forgot, they put 2 rocking chairs on the driving range though.
