Pels 42/88 (48%) - Clippers 35/74 (47%)
3 pointers 10/28 (36%) - Clippers 18/37 (49%)
Rebounds 48 to the Clippers 36
And only 9 Pels turnovers to their 10
52 points in the paint to their 20

They won this game from the 3 point line. Like everyone else has said, even though we lost, it was nice to see good rebounding, low turnovers, and NAWs scoring. I really hope Van Gundy doesn’t go back to his same line-ups after this showing from NAW & Kira (and even Hayes, although he’s been playing more than the other 2).

What’s everyone’s opinions on Redick? He’s shooting 29% from 3 and 32% from the field. He’s not a good defender, and doesn’t exactly drive and dish. I guess we can give it a few more games to see if he starts knocking down his 3s

Ok now we gonna see if SVG is a coach that’s stubborn and stick with JJ,Ball. After last night there is no way either of those guys should be getting anywhere close to the minutes of NAW. He is 22 and hasn’t played much at all. Next to BI and Zion, NAW’s minutes should be right there with them

Not completely. The main stat you left out is why they won they game. They shot 11 more free throws than we did. We actually shot okay from the line at 75%. At that rate, we only needed 8 more attempts to make up the differential.

So, we clearly attacked the paint more while they were taking threes, yet they ended up with 27 free throw attempts to our 16. NBA refs doing NBA ref things. One that sticks out to me was Hayes getting absolutely crushed on a run to the basket and the refs not calling it.

This was a great improvement. The previous games we were turning over the ball a lot. I think we had 18 turnovers vs the Pacers.

They took 74 total shots.
They took 37 shots from 3!
Half their shots were from 3!
That’s unreal!

I’ll say this, one of the big problems attempting to replicate the Bucks defense is that they compliment that style of play with good three point shooting.

They are second in the league in three pointers made.

So they may give up threes, but they also knock them down while locking down the paint. So they go pound for pound with you from three then go for the kill shots by scoring on you inside.

Meanwhile we are the worst three point team in the league percentage wise and bottom 5 in threes made.

IDK, I think we are going to have to do something different if we don’t want things like last night to become recurring themes even more than they are. We don’t need to be abandoning every other facet of the game to chase threes ala Gentry, but I think after last night it would be insane to not deepen our rotations and adjust our guard minutes based on who is looking hot a given night.
