Basically nobody accepts it.

I see them in Atlanta. There's one in South Dekalb and another off of Cheshire Bridge Road.

Same here. It's on a bitcoin app but it's asking me for a 12 word recovery phrase. I vaguely remember having to do this but can't remember where I wrote it down and I've moved since then. It's probably only worth like $500 or so right now but it's the principal
I have atleast 5 wallets that I cant access anymore that all have around 1/2 btc on them

I've always wondered how many of those there were. I've yet to see anyone use them. Seems kind of pointless, as most of that is usually dealt with online.

this seems to be an issue with the OT. I dunno if its ignorance on the subject or its lack of math skills, but most on here struggle with the ability to understand you can't just hire someone to crack encryption. If that was the case, our military network would be cracked.
That post was a response to my somewhat tongue in cheek post, and I promise I wasn't suggesting someone crack the encryption of the crypto itself.

This is why Bitcoin is stupid. Way too hard to use and hold.
lol you know this isn't a requirement. It is very easy to use and hold - my 70 year old father can handle it just fine and he can't figure out how to get the remote to work.

How the frick do you steal something from a computerized banking system?
If you can hack and take $ from a bank account electronically, I'd imagine you could do it with any form of currency.
The only issue with this is that Bitcoin is not anywhere near as widespread or available like the $, so it's not as easily replaced by the institution from which is was stolen.
Also, I would imagine using Bitcoin as a replacement for gold is a better use of it than actually spending it to purchase items.

Are stocks just pieces of paper too? Is gold just a rock?
Tangible things give stock and gold their value.
What gives bitcoin value?
Can we make shark's teeth a currency too?

Why are you so defensive over bitcoin?
You're weird.

Well you can but the number of bitcoins are finite and the dates of release is already scheduled so who are you stealing it from to get it back?
A finite currency?
Sure that makes sense.

Not defensive, but its 2021 and many of yall still saying saying same things you were saying when talking to wikitiger. Been arguing with yall on this for a decade now and you would think with a market cap larger than tesla that some of you would at try snd understand it.
Got tons of big money firms in NYC getting out of gold and into btc as the storage of wealth.
If by now you don't believe crypto is the way of the future we'll you are a dumbass
And I'm not weird, but frick what's it gonna take. I mean a decade of growth hasn't done it, what will.
frick the non believers do what you want, but I will say it's funny that your attitude tends to be prevalent with the uneducated and 50+ crowds.

What tangible thing gives gold its value?? What gives gold its value is people desire it and want it. Same as btc.
Btc is only up 300%+ in a year and 32,000% in the last decade.

Definitely not the specialized mining machines doing the hashing or all the power consumed in this process.

He can't hire a hacker?
Obviously there would have to be legal protections for both.
