OPELOUSAS. Shithole hands down. Free loaders everywhere, and Google maps led me to a 4 star burnt down Poboy joint

3 downvotes about alexandria, tell me your story about living here.... as I said I wouldn’t choose to live here but I wouldn’t even want to live in pineville which makes it worse than Alexandria

They don't like Alex because its a funny joke to make and most have only driven through. Alex is boring but it was "the city" you had to go to for everything where I grew up and I have lived in BR Shreve and Nola, and its not really fair to compare Alex to them, except maybe Shreveport. Alex, and the surrounding small towns, aren't bad if you like hunting and peace and quiet. Its not a world class city or anything but there is far worse in La. Shreveport gets a lot of hate too but as noted above, it thinks its in Texas anyway and Dallas is close so I doubt many there give af about what people in south La think about them.

Alright, frick it.

Lafayette sucks.
The traffic is awful.
The roads aren’t straight.
People from there think everywhere else in the world is worse.
There is no mention of an ex fiancé or her family that makes me bitter in this post.

No it doesn’t

You’re just not familiar

There’s decent job opportunity.
Incredible housing opportunities with unparalleled waterfront life.
Water access with some of the best fishing within 15 miles of shore
River life that is incredible
Near to casino’s (it that’s your sort of thing)
Near New Orleans (if that’s your sort of thing)
Nice old town nightlife and dining opportunities
Well run city hall

I think you’ve probably not been more than a half mile off the interstate

I love Laffy except for the roads. Having to get on i10 where you do is absurd. If they could figure out a way to continue i49 through it or have some sort of way to get some freeway roads close to i10 and get the roads figured out it could be a really cool place.

That’s what I was saying everyone that says Alexandria has never lived in Alexandria. I lived in Shreveport for about my first 16 years, then BR for 13 years

Well Slidell and Chalmette are basically perceived as part of New Orleans to anyone not from New Orleans.

Alexandria has pretty women. How does Louisiana produce so many hot women for a small state

Then you go smaller and get to your Tallulah , Lake Providence, Minden, Coushatta etc.

Minden isn’t even the worst city in Webster parish. SpringHill/Cullen is 20x worse!

Br tries to be cosmopolitan no doubt, but Alex, Shreve, and Laffy would never try nor claim to be cosmo Thats baw country. And I was born in BR and all my family is from there. I love BR but it isn't really comparable to any of those. BR and NOLA are more comparable imo.

The airport is a hidden gem forsure. Not gigantic and you can get in and out quick. There are some great restaurants there too. Verona's, Robby G's, Paradise Catfish Kitchen (in Ball), etc. Plus its small so you can get around quick and its a two hour drive from Shreveport or BR, and one from laffy which isn't too bad. Which brings me to my opinion that La is basically one giant city since you can be anywhere and back within a day if need be.

Thats not too bad though. To go home and see family and friends some weekends I go from Nola to BR to CenLa. Then to Shreveport through Monroe. then from shreveport through Alex and laffy back to Nola. Sometimes in a two day trip. Compared to other states its pretty quick to get around.
