MEXICO CITY — Mexico’s president on Thursday condemned the decision by social media platforms to block the accounts of U.S. President Donald Trump.

quote:

“I don’t like anybody being censored or taking away from the the right to post a message on Twitter or Face(book). I don’t agree with that, I don’t accept that,” López Obrador said.

quote:

“How can you censor someone: ‘Let’s see, I, as the judge of the Holy Inquisition, will punish you because I think what you’re saying is harmful,’” López Obrador said in an extensive, unprompted discourse on the subject. “Where is the law, where is the regulation, what are the norms? This is an issue of government, this is not an issue for private companies.”

quote:

Presidential spokesman Jesús Ramírez doubled down later in the day, writing in his Twitter account that “Facebook’s decision to silence the current leader of the United States calls for a debate on freedom of expression, the free exchange of information on the web, democracy and the role of the companies that administer (social) networks.”

quote:

López Obrador also said he was not planning to attend Biden’s inauguration.

I hope Mexico takes advantage of the current situation in the US. Instead of using Amazon Mexico, I hope they create their own. As well as their own twitter, facebook, etc. I could definitely see myself living their one day. (legally of course).

I am officially changing my stance on illegal immigration. I say we let those free thinkers in... No taxes.. ever. They just have to deport one leftist in return. Seems fair to me.

That dude us straight up supporting the MAGA cries, and they even told him we were putting up a wall and he was going to pay for it....strange times. Maybe they would rather pay for a wall than deal with the Dems, that is pretty bad.

Anyone has the right to protect thier country or state. Trump has invited riots and hate speech for a long time. He did it to himself. No one should feel sorry for a criminal like him. That's why we have the police...

So? They really don't care what these politicians think or say.

They're next.

Maybe if you didnt defund the police they would have had more people to defend the capitol.

Or maybe if Obama didnt incite riots against police officers, more would be alive today to do their jobs.

Because they are actual lefties who are arguing that a business shouldn't have the power to decide who gets to post on their own website. You are aligned with them because you are willing to throw away your principles at the drop of a hat if it helps your team in the short term.

Key words right here. A little birdie popped up a night ago or so saying that we would soon see several countries move to nationalize these social media platforms in response to this censorship wave. Trump's outstanding foreign policy is about to pay off in spades.

Obrador, Putin, and Xi were also amongst the last to acknowledge Biden's win after the election.

NBC News - Countries silent a week later

Tip of the hat to our foreign patriots.

Joking aside I agree with Obrador on the censorship front. Not only the wrong thing to do, but also a tactical error.

I thought the Dems were concerned about what the rest of the world thought about us?
