Maybe a few decades ago but I'd would (and did) buy a Springfield Mil-spec over a Colt Classic. There was nothing the Colt had going for it other than the name. In fact, given their recent history I'd say it would now be a detriment, definitely not worth an extra $200.

Maybe so. Not bad grouping at 20-25 yards with my 20+ yr old Colt 1911, one mag.

I have a Delta Elite and replaced the grip safety and the plastic mainspring housing y-day.

Looks and feels a lot better now.

My buddy has an older model Mil Colt that he had hot rodded by Otto-Comp here in town. Looks like crap, but with the ported barrel & trigger job is a pretty sweet rig. With the less than 3# trigger is hard for me to get use to. I usually end up double tapping with it a few times. That's on me.
