Never really paid her much mind. She’s fringe to me.
Just watched her. Pretty poor technique. Too much movement. Bad eye contact. Blink rate excessive. Very distracting.

If this is your biggest issue with AOC, you demonstrate your inablility to get past the surface. Our current environment demands we get past being Madison Ave Ad Execs.

She's extremely good at using social media. She isn't so much at traditional rhetoric, although there is barely a congressperson who I would suggest is good at rhetoric.

With the generations who have grown up using social media, it takes her extremely far. She's done things like host Q&A sessions on Instagram Live while cooking, does Twitch streams with major streamers, and has used hashtags to get her ideas trending on Twitter. She isn't building a brand for anyone 40 or older. Social media allows her to shape narratives and control how she responds.
Her social media strategy is extremely good, and it will propel much farther than most people think.

AOC is trying a different approach to power. She is circumventing the normal process of gaining power and influence in Congress.
Her duty as a freshman congressman, errrrr, congresswoman) is to show loyalty to Nancy and the party by raising money. New congressional delegates are given quotas of money they are expected to raise.
Instead of doing what she is asked and getting power and clout through loyalty and seniority, AOC is using her looks and her appeal to the far left commie crowd to gain popularity and to try to force the Democrat party to give her more influence than a newbie should have. She irritates Pelosi because she pushes Pelosi to move further left than the big time donors to the Democrat Party want.
