Let the NC game finish up and more of the NFL playoffs to be completed, then target the best DC/DL/Safeties coaches. Make the right hire not just a big name splashy hire.

Even Pete Carroll's Seahawks assistant coaches are done with their season. Indy and Washington as well.

I'd still offer Jim Leonhard the salary we paid Aranda. Make him say no, he just may jump ship for that raise.

I'm just curious, do you enjoy making threads just to read your own bullshite? You sure make a ton of them, and they are usually filled with worthless crap, and often times even contradict what your previous useless threads said.

You, Saturncube, smell the crawfish, true tiger and sabesque run a close race on number of pointless threads started.

Yes if Raymond wants then it should be his. He been loyal to LSU for years, his recruiting of top DB's is legendary, and he's worked along side some great defensive coordinators. It's defensive position coordinators that become DC's, I just happen to believe he has the qualifications. Now if he doesnt want the job, then that's his choice but it should at least offered to him.

That’s for Coach O to decide, it’s his dream job that’s on the chopping block if he fails.

Its idiots like you that are FICKLE fans of LSU. You guys wanted Fisher and Herman. Hated the Orgeron hire. Then he win a NC. This season due to Covid, loss of players to NFL and opt out this season went south. Now you want Orgeron on the hot seat, and claim its doomsday with Freeman going to ND. So why dont you STFU, and go support another program. We dont need fair weather fans like you. Many great programs promote from within and Raymond is the best DB coach in America. He is deserving of a promotion to the DC if he wants it. If not target others like Leonhard etc.

Re Raymond, you may be hiring him just to have to fire him later. See this often in the private sector

You also risk losing him to other programs because you refuse to give him that opportunity. He can be the DC and Secondary coach. Chavis and Aranda coached the LB'S.

yeah sure. No reason to rush it's not like at least 2 other major programs are looking for a DC or anything. It's not like NSD is coming up. We should just kick back let everyone have their pick then see what's left over.

I would certainly like to have a person in place ASAP to discuss the system with all of the defensive coaches; spring is not that far off. The time is NOW.

I've been a loyal fan longer than he. Have the same number of days experience as DC. I would be a lot cheaper.
I'll take it.
Hope Raymond stays where he is until a HC offers him a promotion.

Raymond has had four opportunities under two different head coaches in three different situations (when Steele was hired, when Aranda was hired, when O was promoted to Head Coach, when Bo was hired) to be promoted to DC and we’ve never even had an indication that’s he’s been considered. That means one of two things. Either he doesn’t care to be a DC, or no one he’s worked under thinks he qualified enough to take this job. No one is saying he can’t be a DC, or that he’s not qualified for ANY job. Just not THIS one without some experience.

If Raymond wants to be a P5 DC, much less the DC here, then he needs to put his name out there, go get a solid G5 DC position, and prove himself.

Well if Coach O is standing by his word that he wants a DC in place by Monday then he better get a move on it. I highly doubt it's done by the end of the day tomorrow. We aren't even hearing any interviews but maybe they keeping this one on the down low.

I wanted a proven head coach, and at the time LSU was hiring, both of those seemed like the best available. Of course I would have been excited with both.

Yes, I certainly did, because he wasn't proven. I was scared that the season we saw this year would become the norm. Then he won a national championship, and he deserves all the praise he received. Then this year happened, and he now needs to prove he is capable of constantly bringing in coordinators to keep LSU at a high level. This next year or two will be very critical to his career.

Now you want Orgeron on the hot seat, and claim its doomsday with Freeman going to ND

Find one post of me claiming it's doomsday because Freeman went to ND. You are just making shite up and proving that you are the complete idiot we all thought you were. Of course I would have been happy with Freeman. I also realize that he isn't the only good DC option out there though, and we can still make a good hire.

quote:

We dont need fair weather fans like you

I guarantee you that there is nothing that's fair weather about me. Those of us that are labeled haters are generally just huge LSU fans that realize that this program could, and should, be on a Bama/Clemson type level. Just because we don't settle, and sunshine pump, like your pussy arse doesn't make anybody a fair weather fan.

quote:

Sure. And maybe Raymond would be great. I think that if Raymond wants to he a DC he should go prove his worth elsewhere. This year is crucial for O to make a good DC hire, because if he doesn't his arse will be the one on the line. If I was him I wouldn't be hitching my wagon to a coach who isn't proven.
