This team can win even when its best shooter is having an horrendous night. Other the the three pointer late in the game, Thomas was AWEFUL from the outside. He scored his points off the dribble and at the foul line.

This is a HUGE plus. When Thomas is on, this will be a formidable team.

Sorry to be so damn positive.

Days also had an off shooting night until he hit the big 3 in overtime, but his effort on the court is not matched by anyone on any team. That dude fights for everything. I could watch him play basketball for hours.

Team was carried last night by Watford and Smart until about 5 minutes left in regulation Thomas started to take over and driving to the lane and racking up fouls.

And Hyatt had a couple of garbage baskets but doesn’t need to shoot another 3 all year.

Watford’s inability to hold onto the ball reminds me of how Naz Reid played.

It was pretty cool that Cam had two points and halftime and ended up with 25.

Also, like the poor man's Doris said, "Don't pass the ball in the corner."

There are many pluses and I love this team but here are the things that bother me:

1. Lack of team defense.
Too many players are giving up their man for help defense. (This usually can't be avoided against quick teams.) This puts the defense in a bad position and the offensive player simply kick the ball out for an easy jump shot or passes to a cutter.

2. Lack of rebounding as a team.
Too much standing around when the ball is shot. When the ball is shot get on a man and box out, then go to the ball and rebound. Don't rely on chance the the ball will bounce your way. Work by boxing out when the ball is up in the air prior to the ball hitting the goal to increase our chances of getting a rebound.

3. Lack of off screen plays for Thomas and lack of pick and roll plays. And when we try screens the execution is terrible. The timing is way off. I would love to see more down screens for Thomas setting him free for easy threes but we don't screen well because of poor timing. We don't wait until the screening guy is set before using him. They need to practice that dance everyday in practice and be deliberate about it.

4. Average quickness. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about this. We will be exposed when we play quicker teams like UGA last night. This will force us to play zone defense and hope that the the other team is missing from the outside. With that said when we play teams with the same level of quickness we will do fine because our guys are strong and highly skilled.

Your positivity is backed by facts and stats. All good. You're right, if we can win when we has an off night, we should be very good down the stretch.
