You're right. STM is the best answer.

STM gets nod
CHS actually got better once the fr started playing qb
The offense peaked at the right time for chs considering the competition they played

I know LCA is not in the big boys division but they could still hang with anybody I think. 4 straight state titles.

How can you put ASH in there? Acadiana literally gave them the ball 4 times and still ended up beating them. At least Catholic barely won when we gave them the ball that many times. I’ll give you that one. STM is hard to beat with that QB and receivers but Carencro got blasted by them and Carencro was losing to fricking Southside well into the 4th quarter. All of this is conjecture because all of these teams played and beat each other and got beat by random teams also. STM is #1 from a pure objective standpoint since they beat the 4A and Div 1 champions and won Div2

Everything else after that is a toss up

I put ASH in the mix because they played Acadiana tight and took it to the wire. To me they are tied top 5.

I did have my mind changed regarding Catholic, but the argument could be made by seasons end they were better than the team they lost to earlier.

It's not scientific I know, but Carencro blew me away last night and Acadiana didn't today. Arguments like these are what make it interesting.

Not saying they aren’t the best, but it’s weird having STM at the very top when they couldn’t get to the Dome before the spilt.

Really wish those whiny principals hadn’t done that.

If that is your criteria and you have STM as #1, then you would have to put DLS in the top 5.

The split was 7 years ago

The seniors were 11, and the sophomores were 9. Why does what happened when those kids were watching power rangers matter now?

STM is the best.

I would love to see a rematch of STM / Catholic now that Catholic has a passing QB. It hurt them in the first game. Despite it, hats off to STM for beating the bears and going undefeated. They won the “title” of best in La on the field this year.

He’s just stating a fact that it’s strange STM couldn’t win state before the split. Same with Catholic. FACTS that you can’t seem to admit. It’s a watered down playoffs now

I don’t see how it’s strange at all

I don’t know what a completely different group of kids and coaches have today. Parkview dominated before the split, now they suck

West Monroe was a machine, now they are completely average. In 7 years, some high school programs will get better and some will get worse. Hell, watch out for ASH moving forward with Bachman

I'm just saying it sucks we can't have STM, CHBR, etc. battling Carencro, Acadiana, etc. in the actual playoffs. Not putting down STM one bit. I have a ton of respect for Jim Hightower and several of the coaches there.

Merely commenting that thanks to a bunch of principals at public schools, some who even voted opposite of what their AD's or head coaches wanted, we don't get to see the public vs private playoff matchups anymore.

We don't get to hear JP Bitterman broadcasting like a lunatic for an Acadiana vs. STM playoff game.
