Sources are saying that Cincinnati is expected to make Freeman too expensive for LSU with its financial problems and that Mason appears to be the choice if that happens, but it's not over yet. Starts at the 19-minute mark.

Lsu has the money to outbid cincy. Do you really think an AAC school has more money than an SEC member? The whole "financial problem" thing is just something the scum media is throwing around due to muh covid

For the love of all that is holy, can we please quit giving this guy attention and acting like he is some legitimate LSU inside source.

And I’m sick of hearing the money stuff as a reason. LSU, through boosters, is not strapped for cash. If Orgeron is only being given so much to spend, it is b/c Woodward and the powers that be are just CHOOSING to limit him, not b/c they have to.

I don't see Cincinnati paying a coordinator two million dollars. Their head coach probably don't make that

What money problem? LSU had more than enough money to poach any coach.

If LSU gets stuck with Mason. Disaster scenario. O will be out of a job soon with another garbage D coordinator

This guy called for a contract in the $3 million to $5 million range for Freeman from Cincy. In what world is a group of 5 DC making $5 million?

Woodward could be doing that out of fear that he's strapped to Orgeron and another overpriced hire that fails. Woodward could be fearing the ax if O fails again.

Why do y’all keep acting like Cincinnati is some podunk school like a McNeese or Nicholls? I’m not saying they are the level of LSU; but they aren’t some also ran. They can pay money if they want to.

And Fickell makes $3.4M as HC, which he’ll probably get bumped to at least $4M or more after this season.

To me, this is good news. It means that a.) LSU is seriously pursuing him and, b.) Cincy thinks that there is enough interest there from both sides that they have to up the ante.

If LSU wants him and he wants to come, the money will be there.

Not arguing, but wondering if UC would give their DC a 4X or more pay raise to keep him.

They probably can, question is will they?

Paying whatever it takes to get a good young DC will be far less expensive than O’s buyout. Think about it.

This guy gets it. Also, this DC checks all of the boxes that the last DC did not. The big contract makes sense here.
