How many of you use this shot as your normal iron shot when playing? I have a hard time finding the bottom of my swing and making consistent contact when using my irons. Using the the knockdown shot promotes more consistent contact and gives me a higher chance of getting the ball in the air and closer to the green. Maybe with time the knockdown will help me get to more of a full “normal” swing but for now this gives me the best chance to play more consistent golf.

Keep evolving your “knockdown” swing into a more full and complete swing. Nothing wrong with that.

And for the record, a knockdown and stinger are 2 different shots. And from the looks of it you’re years away from hitting a true Stinger.

A lot of guys on tour will go to some sort of knockdown as their go-to when the swing feels off. Paul Azinger essentially played a knockdown his whole career

It’s good to know how to use it. Both a cut and draw. But it’s not my normal shot shape. I find the distance control to be the biggest issue.

I I'm in between clubs I usually go to a less lofted club and only bring my back swing to 3/4 arc. Giving me the extra yardage I need for the shot. Also great against the wind.

I pretty much knockdown everything.

I rarely take a full swing, I’ll just club up and knockdown. I feel like I’m in more control and can hit it straighter. Certainly sacrifice when it comes to distance, though.

Its not unusual for me to hit 14/15 GIR (depends how I’m hitting my driver, too) on a good round. Now if I could only putt...
