A smiling Max Johnson told reporters, “It’s a brotherhood. I’m thankful for these guys and coaches. I’ll never forget these times.”

Just a freshman but already he has incredible victories and memories in just two starts, imagine how many more await him and LSU fans. The Advocate noted Brennan will face very stiff competition from Max and Finley, implied that the QB starting position is now up for grabs.

Just Max. Finley doesn’t have it. He’s just a big, slow dude with a good arm. No idea how to use it though.

I still think it’s Brennan’s job to lose. He’s too accurate.

Ensminger praised Max, he compared Max to Burrow in that he is a huge student of the game. Studies a lot of film just like Burrow and has similar leadership qualities.

For the older folks I see a lot of Tommy Hodson in him. Tommy commanded the room with intelligence of the game and grit starting during his freshman season. Tommy absolutely loved LSU and you can tell Max is the same way.

I don't see how he's not the starter next year. Mobile, accurate, confident, clear leadership qualities . . . this kid checks all the boxes.

Finley was a true frosh too, with less coaching prior to arrival. Give him time.

His dad was an underrated pro who played the game from the neck up. Max is a lot like him.

Exactly told an old time Tiger that he looks like a taller Tommy with great pocket presence and composure

Ohio St 10, LSU 10, I remember that game in Tiger Stadium. A shame that fans will never see that matchup again in TD.

Tommy was a redshirt freshman and not a true freshman like this dude.

Just be happy that we have 3 guys that have shown promise and another on the way that may be better than all.

A loaded QB room is a great thing.

People need to stop hating on TJ. He is not as mobile, so he needs a better o-line. If he gets that, he may be the man.

I’m not ready to crown any of them or bash any of them just yet. They all have shown potential. Let’s see who develops from here and who the coaches feel they can build an offense around.

I think the mobility is what sets him apart from Myles (who has the stronger arm) but the fact that he’s a true freshman with everything else being equal I say go with the youth and ride him for 2-3 more years and win a championship... then on to Nuss or Howard

Looks like our team turned a corner. If we get a better DC, and passing /3rd down coach we're in good shape for next season.

I like Max and Brennan both a lot. Iron sharpens iron, I think Brennan will be the starter next year but Max is going to give him a run for his money. You can tell Max is just a straight gamer

MJ has touch on the ball. TJF not so much. He has the same velocity and throwing motion wether it’s a 5 yd screen pass or a 20 yard out rout.

Still freshmans. You can “learn” all you want in the film room but it don’t mean shite until you prove yourself on the field

Except he is 6 foot 4, 215 lbs with a better than average arm. He has some tools.

Remember when the rant told us all that Finley needed to start over Brennan because he could run?

I honestly never saw that....not saying it didnt happen, but it wasnt a huge number.

If we can grow a good to great OL, Finley may be unstoppable. But as long as a QB has to move off his spot TJ can not be our QB. He has roots.
