Chris Curry wouldn't even be good enough for a Les Miles team. God bless his soul but he is not good enough. He has never been good enough for LSU.

Ole Miss is the worst rush defense in the SEC and 110th in the country. It sucks that both Emery and TDP could be out because we could have just ran the shite out of the ball for 300+ yards. Since Johnson can run, we need to run those option plays all game long with him, Curry, and Bradford

Did you read the original post? Emery will gash Ole Miss and we will score quickly! My point was we need to score touchdowns on long methodical drives that eat lot's of clock and deny Ole Miss possessions. Using a slower power back like Curry for "this specific" game would be advantageous for eating clock.

This clarification makes it sound even worse lol

Would you rather score quickly or punt 12 times?

Did we possess the ball for at least 40 minutes? That’s the important question.

We had it for 41 minutes against Arkansas and needed a blocked FG to not go to OT.

The Chris Curry averaging 3.4 yards per carry this season and has yet to score a college TD Chris Curry?

Ole Miss defense might be the only one in the country worse than ours

119th scoring defense
110th rushing defense (5.66 YPC )
125th passing defense

This idk if its because he runs up or is top heavy but for as big and hard he runs he goes down easy

He needs to be a fullback somewhere that uses a FB.

He's listed at 5'11" 216 lb on the roster. Sure he's a decent pass blocker, but he'd need to put on another 30 lbs to play fullback.

Yea I don’t get the FB feel for him either. He’s just a bigger bodied back who isn’t nearly as strong a runner as some people seem to think.

Bradford has some dropped balls lately when we used him. I do know is a beast and can produce since Emery is questionable.

Scoring slow or fast has no effect on what the opposition does on offense unless it’s late in the game and we can run out the clock.

More TOP generally = less possessions (i.e. scoring opportunities) for the opponent

Less possession = less times your struggling defense has to get a stop

If you can limit your opponent's possession you put greater emphasis on them scoring on every possession which, on the flip side, puts more value on any stop your defense can get. In a game where it is unlikely LSU will get a ton of stops, getting 5 stops on 10 possession if FAR more impactful than getting those same 5 stops on 17 possessions.

You’re also putting pressure on your offense actually scoring. It doesn’t matter if we have a 9 minute drive then ends in 0-3 points if Ole Miss responds with a 2 minute drive that ends in a TD.

If Emery and TDP are out, I totally agree.

As much as I have complained about 18 at times, he stepped up in a big way in the florida game in his home state. Hope he steps up again this week to end this season with a WIN

Most of the time when Curry takes on a tackler head on, this happens:

He’s not this bruising, beast-mode, truck of a running back you describe. And his vision reminds me of Trent Richardson’s NFL career. Not sure what you’ve seen.

That said, he did have some nice runs against UF, and I hope shines tomorrow.

Am I taking crazy pills? He ran the ball for 64 yards at 3.7 ypc

3.4 yards per carry times 3 downs equals 1st down Tigers.
