Tampa have to be on the list.

Tampa is a vacation destination though. Busch Gardens, theme parks, beaches, Cuban Americans, etc.

I agree about the uniqueness of Miami's skyline. It looks more like something you would find in South America more so than any other city in the US.

Very unique and becoming very impressive.

I've never actually seen it in person but I like to look at skylines whenever I drive or go places and at pictures of places I haven't. Miami's is definitely impressive and the South America vibe seems accurate. Some of the buildings looking the same as one another gives me a Canadian/Eurpean type vibe (strictly building wise). Idk, I should visit at some point and see it.

Old Town San Antonio was a lot of fun. Had a great identity, great restaurants.

San Antonio has an identity. Mexican, fat, and just kind of... there

Houston’s my top pick, too. It’s devolved into a cookie-cutter, Anytown, USA.

Fresno... definitely needs to be in the conversation. Worst city in California.

I prefer Fort Collins to Denver but the area is great.

I have friends downtown and love it. Other areas in the city near universities that were fun. Great restaurants, coffee shops breweries, dispensaries and bars. Lots of cool old houses. Arvada is fricking awesome. Denver has green spaces and parks. Great weather in spring and summer. And yes being near the best skiing, fly fishing, hiking and camping in the world is pretty badass.

Of the three cities I mentioned, yeah, Tampa is probably the one you could legitimately take issue with.

I like Atlanta. WTF do I know anyway.

any city in Louisiana. Disgusting shitholes where industry flees and so does their people.

This may be true - but almost every Louisiana ‘city’ has an identity

I’ll throw Abilene out there.

Also, Witchita, Columbus, and Duluth.

Houston has an identity: chaos, unbridled ambition, and freedom. Where else can an impoverished Guatemalan peasant dream of one day opening his own megascale pesticide factory right next door to a subdivision?

What is Philadelphia’s identity outside of cheesesteak and Liberty Bell?

I’m sure a city of that size has things to do but I never hear of it being a “must visit” destination. I’ve been once but admittedly only for 48 hours. I preferred Pittsburg if I’m comparing an instate destination
