It is a great listen on how coach O and his players had a disconnect and it still lingers. He talked about Nick Saban has guys who keep him up to date on the world news outside of football and how they told Saban he needs to get on top of this and he listens. Mike said you can have your own world views but if you don’t show a player that you care about him you hurt him. He said you can bring up all the times they did stuff for you but they will always remember that time you hurt him or let him down.

I can’t listen to Mike D. The guy rambles way too much.

Comparing the sophistication of Saban to O is like comparing a Space X rocket to an onion.

Kids today will always find something to be upset about or that hurts their delicate feelings. It’s just the way of the world now. They are soft and you have to coach them soft with kid gloves. The days of the old school yelling aggressive football coach are soon to be dead. Kids don’t respond to that anymore they just quit instead of respond and try harder.

Lol Ed O has one guy and his name is Derek Ponamsky. He was too busy booking the next tv appearance instead of offering advice on a potentially big issue with the players. Its like dumb & dumber with those 2. I would be shocked if Ed sustains a championship program at LSU. Coaches like Saban are just smarter and get ahead of issues before they happen.

Nick Saban knows the issues, he has been recruiting black athletes for 30 years.

Listening is fine,"sure, I care"

seriously what could Nick Saban learn about life by listening to black athletes who have no father?

So when a student athlete starts organizing a march for social justice for Floyd and Taylor (people they don't know, aren't part of the family, not part of LSU, and it's a based on misinformation of what happened in these cases) that's when I call a team meeting and I do all the educating of facts to undo what the media has been teaching

I can't deal with ignorance of the facts...

I just remember how they were going after Dabo at first when he was going through it. He didn’t get the respect back from the players until he spoke in public to everybody at a rally on campus. Coach O comments were short and simple about the situation besides the written release he put out. The players wanted coach O to speak up about it like Joe Burrow did when he spoke up on social injustice.

What meeting could you call to undo the fact that the media didn’t have to tell them the cop kneed on George Floyd for 8 minutes and 46 seconds? The players saw it.

I’m just sick of it all. You can’t have a different opinion of everything from the liberal view without being called racist so then you stay quiet but if you stay quiet you are a closet racist. It’s think like I do or hell will rain down on you. I wish they could just leave all the bullshite at the door and keep football separate from it but that’s never going g to happen.

"seriously what could Nick Saban learn about life by listening to black athletes who have no father?" that a fricked up statement to make without any proof! He could learn how to to not let society judge you because you don't have a male figure in your life. Or if life give you lemons, make lemonade. Just because some white people grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth, doesn't know how to struggle, because you never had to. Seems like you are one of those silver spoon kids!

"I call a team meeting and I do all the educating of facts to undo what the media has been teaching," that show how ignorant you are, can't be to educated to make a stupid statement like that. Do it my way or else! That's how you lose employees, you talk to your employees not down to them. How can Saban or you educate on facts if you never grew up with a father? don't blame the media.

Well, when adversity hits and you have kids looking for the Leader, the Leader has 3 choices, he/she can choose to do the RIGHT thing, he/she can choose to do the WRONG thing, but the worst thing a Leader cannot do is choose to do NOTHING.

Coach O for whatever reason and in the eyes of those that depended on him made the WRONG choice.

make them watch the full hour of 3 police head cams with audio of that incident ( I bet 98% haven't seen any of it)

then have a Q and A...

I would open with..

has your perspective changed at all gentlemen? if not, stand up and tell the team why not...

what did you learn from this?

do you know anyone like Floyd?

Just look at the backlash Brees got for simply stating he didn't believe in disrespecting the flag.

1)We pursue leaders not so much for the wisdom they SAY but for the wisdom they DISPLAY!
2)He who has never learned to follow will not know how to command.
3)Followers are people in hope for successes & a belief in their goals. A 4)Leaders success empower followers to accomplish their goals.
5)Fear stops you in your tracks; Leaders don’t wait, but are willing to move forward.
6)Leadership is not a 1day occurrence. It is a steady commitment to excellence, a routine, a daily practice.
7)A good leader brings people up, not down!

I have met a few former Bama players and everyone said Saban is strict but he is not a dick, and that he genuinely connects and cares about his players.

Saban didn't march with his players until after O was getting blasted all over the media.
