So all of this quitting is over that stupid march. Football is supposed to be an escape from everybody's daily grind.
Truth be told I don't give a shite who you vote for. None of my damn business.
What a shitshow

But what if politics made a major difference in our on the field result? I'm not advocating politics but just saying.

Nope
Kids aren’t opting out 4 months later because of the march. Kids aren’t losing themselves millions of dollars by intentionally playing bad to make a point that they aren’t actually sayings
If they wanted to stick it to O they would have quit in August before they put a bunch of bad tape out there.

I don’t buy for one second that March or the BLM shite is a major factor in our current debacle

Not sure what’s hard to understand. Football teams are made up of people who have lives and concerns outside of football. When a large group of people on a team feel a certain way and engage in a concerted act due to those concerns, it’s up to the leadership to respond. Good leaders of men, such as Saban, stood out front with his players and led them. Others, like O, did nothing. When times get tough, seemingly unimportant things like that can make a difference.

Just how much has the rant completely made up in the last few days?
ETA: and why would players quit over the March? Didn’t they WANT to march?

It's a slippery slope no matter what. There's going to be people on both sides of every issue.
Ask Brees if wishes he kept his politics to himself . Now both sides hate him

Its about trust between coach and players. A coach cant be one way in the locker room and then go on Fox praising the President without expecting backlash. Especially when you have an angry former player who is advising a good portion of the team.

You’re taking this way too personal

The University shouldn't allow it, do what you want in your own time but don't bring that shite to the field. Their opinion has consequences just like everything else.

If Obama was in office would you or the players feel the same about him having an opinion about the president? Of course not.

Kinda hard when the players are very politically motivated and aware these days.

I wish but we’ve past that point in our country. Politics is our whole lives for the foreseeable future. Welcome to hell

The problem is the players talk about wanting to have an open dialogue where everyone can say what they feel but that’s really bullshite. What they really mean is they want an open dialogue as long as it lines up with their way of thinking. They don’t want to keep politics and real life separate from football but god forbid someone say they support a president or political party that they don’t agree with. Then there’s anarchy because they got their feelings hurt. It’s all one big load of horseshite. Either agree with their political views or you are a racist plain and simple. Tell me I’m wrong please.

But are they really “aware”?

A president who has actually done things to help solve the problem and has done a lot of acts to help the black community

what a bunch of horse hockey. Do you reallllly believe for one minute that Saban gives two chits about his players other than can they catch, tackle and throw a football in a way that will help him win another championship??? seriously you must be high. Saban give a chit about nothing but himself and his ego. P E R I O D.

Who are the 12 fools downvoting this?
With all of the benefits received in being an LSU football player, how difficult is it to come do your damn job (play football) and not get in trouble, keep your grades up, and not let other BS get in the way of the objective? They started going downhill when they focused on things other than the reason they are on scholarship at LSU and it is obvious. Get your damn heads on straight and play ball. Nobody gives a frick about the average college student's activism and political views. Same should go for these entitled, privileged athletes.
