I am so sorry for your loss. Please don’t do anything that would bring further pain to your children. They and you will be my prayers.

Do they send total knee replacement patients gone the same day?

I wouldn’t think so but even if they kept her overnight, one would think that anesthesia would have not been an issue as far as “waking up? by the next day. ??

CD, check in with us.

I worked with a lady who died the same way. She got a knee replacement, went home with no issues the same day due to surgery and never made it back to the hospital. Threw a clot at home alone and died.

My uncle had a knee replacement and almost died. They sent him home, he developed terrible complications and ended up in ICU a while.

I just find it odd that the next day she “wasn’t awake” from anesthesia.

So many prayers for CD and his children.

I posted earlier that a family friend from a very prominent family in Auburn just lost their mom in a similar situation last Sunday. She had a knee injury about a month ago that required surgery. An infection ensued, and she unfortunately passed. I had no idea until this thread how common this apparently is.

It was just a few hours later, not the next day.

When I had a knee reconstruction a couple of years ago I was definitely sent home too soon. Apparently I was coherent in the recovery area, but I don't remember it. I ended up busting my arse hard trying to get in the house on crutches after trying to catch myself with the numbed leg. I fortunately didn't make anything worse but it was without a doubt too soon.

Can't begin to say how sorry I am for your loss. I pray that you can find comfort and strength from your kids and vice versa. God bless your family.

Very sorry to hear OP. You have our prayers and I hope you are able to find some type of closure. You never know when tragedy will strike.

I’ve been out all afternoon and just saw the link to GFM removed by admin. Is there a question about authenticity or admin just waiting for CD to provide confirmation? What’s going on?

I believe the link was taken down because the goal was met. You can still donate if you want to though.

It’s a few pages back, but I think Chicken said the goal had been reached and he doesn’t really like having GFM links on the board.

Understandable. It’s a fine line to walk in his position.

Agreed

All that being said, the response here was so encouraging to me.

I hope it gives the OP a little relief so he can focus on his grief and his family. I can’t imagine what he’s going through right now
