Easily the best of the "It's a Wonderful Life" alternates

Oh man, just watched the whole thing. Brutal.
I don’t remember it being this sad before I had kids. When he goes back home after realizing the glimpse is about to end and kisses the kids goodbye got to me.
Yup. This is what I was saying.
I first saw this before I had kids but was married, and I really liked it and I felt it was sad, but I still felt ok because he did eventually realize what he truly wanted was a life with Tea Leoni. Not having kids at the time, I didn't feel that loss.
But now? Ugh... Even thinking about having my life ripped from me and my kids, my past with my wife, all wiped clean and virtually impossible to recreate?

Definitely my favorite Cage movie.
I liked the deviation in the theme from the source.

WeatherMan > Family Man
But Tea Leoni > Nic Cage
But Tea Leoni > Nic Cage

I watched it last night at 10:00 after reading this thread, hadn't seen it since it came out.
Good movie. Cage has a few scenes where he does that weird forced laugh with his eyes bugging out that goes on a little too long. Man, that always creeps me out
I like that the ending is "happy" but not saccharine sweet. The only thing that bugs me about the story is that we never get any clue as to who Don Cheedle is, or why he's doing what he'd doing to Jack.
And at the end, the girl who is buying something from him at the qwik-e-mart, was she also going through something like Jack? There was some kind of weirdness there.
Oh, and Tea Leoni was gorgeous. Makes me want to go back and find old episodes of The Naked Truth.

RIP to the dead kids. Great movie though. I watch it every year.

I really don't think he wanted to stop letting the dog run around taking a dump in the snow even though you could tell he hated doing that chore and yes, it was hard watching him trying to fight sleep watching the kids that last night.

She was being tested like the cashier in the beginning with the Lotto ticket.
ETA: She gave a $1 and got change for a $10.

I mentioned this movie in a thread about movies that kick you in the gut, I think. This is a movie that bothered me when I was younger and married but before we had kids. Now that I've had kids, the idea of what happens to Cage by the end of the movie...I'm not sure I could handle watching that one again
Definitely hits you harder after having kids. I still love the movie though and rewatch it when I see it on.
The ending always leaves me wanting more, so much more. I was talking about this movie with someone a long time ago and we wondered about an ending where he comes back to his old life and finds out the husband from his glimpse reality got to come glimpse his own life and chasing hot women and living the life of a bachelor only to find out how good he had it and ended up finding his wife in that universe and pursuing a relationship with her and he arrives back to his life with her in his bed or something. Probably would make the movie a lot worse though. I need to watch it this year.
