If you add in the opt outs, 2019 numbers, LSUs lead in players leaving early is growing over our competitors So what gives?

It started under Miles as a recruiting tactic. I honestly don’t think O is selling this the same way Miles was, but it’s ingrained in the program. He would have to make a concerted effort to change the culture away from it now. I think he has to or it will eventually cost him this job.

Competence, or lack thereof, will cost him his job before culture.

This is his perfect opportunity to change the culture with players leaving. So if he doesn't get it done now, he will never get it done.

Unfortunately I think a good bit of this is still happening and won’t stop. The problem with this is, you need great recruiting classes every year and you can’t miss on the guys you get. You also need low turnover and LSU hasn’t had either of these recently in terms of turnover in personnel and missing on some talent evaluations. What is happening now is what you’re going to get, every few years you’ll amass talent and experience and it leads to a result like last year. Then you’ll experience this year every few years because of loss of players, transfers and misses in talent. Obviously good coaching plays a big part in this also.
