I don’t see how they can make up both the Florida and the Alabama games, so I could see them playing neither.

That leaves us with just two remaining if no bowl.

Or less if one of those two on the schedule get hit with an outbreak.

RUMOR is we will play Bama on Dec 5, @ UF on Dec 12; and host OMiss on Dec 19

Doesn’t that give Bama (but not Florida, their likely opponent) a bi-week before the SEC Championship ?

Wouldn’t surprise me.

I've read this several different places as well but it seems like we are getting close to the time when this would need to be finalized. The SEC usually announces the following Saturday's TV schedule on a Monday. The Dec 5 schedule should have been announced yesterday but there was nothing.

No. Bama would have to play Arkansas on dec 12 in this case

Covid throws all normal timelines out of the window. There have been games changed the Monday before the weekend.

If I had to guess the SEC is going to wait to see exactly what games are played/cancelled this weekend before making a final decision. If all games are played as scheduled this weekend then you go with rumored schedule.

Minimum requirement is a .500 season to be bowl eligible. LSU would need to win at least 2 of the last 4 to have a shot. Mizz and MSST losses will keep this team from a bowl game.

I thought there were no eligibility requirements this year for bowls. I wish they’d trash the conference tie ins also and let bowls pick based on what makes the most sense and teams available.

Do you SERIOUSLY think they’ll be playing meaningless bowl games this year?

Meaningless bowls that the players don’t want and fans won’t be able to attend?

C’mon, man.

Did not know they changed that for the season. So, there is a chance a 4-6 LSU team gets a bowl game (no shot at a 3-7 team). Would be great to at least get a few more weeks of practice for such a young team.

This makes sense looking only at LSU's schedule but plenty of other games elsewhere have been postponed, it isn't that simple. SEC has to decide if it’s going to have some teams play 10 and some play 9 because all games can't be accommodated. They are saying Dec 19th for Ole Miss – LSU, but they are also talking about that date to make up Ole Miss and A&M. That’s just one of many examples.

Yes, they have announced many bowl games will go forward.

I have always found LSU bowl games "meaningful", no matter what bowl we play in, because I get to watch LSU football one more time.

I think most players would want to travel to go to a bowl and most fans, even if we watch from home on tv, are happy to have the diversion.

I wish the tigers were better this year, but I still put on my purple shirt on saturday and look forward to watching each game they play.

That was before Arkansas/Missouri game was cancelled. Arkansas is scheduled to play Bama on 12/5, and would have been Bama's opponent on 12/12.

One of the biggest factors in playing the bowl game is the dozen or so extra practices allowed. People underestimate that.

It's not as long as usual this year. Championship game is on Dec 19th and SEC bowls start around the 28th.....It's usually 6 weeks or so. I'm not sure how much difference the extra few practices will make this year.

Check your calendar.

If the regular season ends on the 19th and bowl season starts immediately thereafter, where do the "few weeks" come in to play?

They may get 4-5 extra practices at most.

Not this year. They won't be able to actually do the fun bowl activities.

Wouldn't be shocked if teams actually travelled the day before the game for bowls, like a normal roadtrip, instead of going 4 days early and being quarantined to a hotel

Wouldn’t be surprised to see SEC add additional opponents so teams can reach 10 games. Curious to see if all teams play 10 games. I have my doubts.
