The range of emotions with Jameis playing quarterback is going to be fun to watch. I’m sure there will be times when he makes a bonehead throw and fans are saying he sucks. Then there will be times when he make a beautiful deep pass where we get to see his arm talent shown off and fans will go nuts. It’s going to be exciting to watch though. You will never know what you will get. But the emotions are going to swing so much with him. The biggest thing is that we get a W each week to hang onto our shot at a bye. I think with the team around him we can definitely do that.

I guess it will be a preview of when Brees retires...

I'm curious to see if CSP plans on Jameis playing conservative, while leaning on our defense/special teams...or will he let Jameis air it out?

Honestly I think you have to just let him play. The dude has a ton of arm talent. I think to get good Jameis you have to let him take a few risks. I’ve watched the guy completely eviscerate defenses and look like a top 3-4 qb. Then he looks like the worst qb in the league.

I think we will see similar to last year with teddy. He started off very conservative. And he at least has to have some confidence based off the defensive performance the last two weeks. But as the saints went along he put a little more trust in teddy.
My concern is more with jameis knowing the system. Teddy was here for a full season prior to that so he knew it pretty well.
I do think that Jameis knowing that his defense can cover for him may make him less likely to gamble. You gotta think when he was playing with that bad of a defense in Tampa that he felt pressured to score every drive.

Let him sling it. We have weapons. We have two deep threats in Harris and Sanders that we don't utilize at all.
If you can start putting that threat back into defense's minds, Kamara, Cook, Thomas will FEAST underneath.

All we need him to do is manage the game, and the offensive line has got to play better. This team has more than enough talent to get by.

So business as usual with how the board reacts with every other player on the team?

I don't think we should, nor will, come out and ask him to pass it 50 times, but we shouldn't be ultra-conservative. He needs to be able to play comfortably, and CSP is a good enough coach to put him into a position to succeed.

I will say our fans have been spoiled with 15 years of Brees. All time greats don't just grow on trees. Jameis is never going to be as efficient as Drew was and will probably turn it over more, but trust me we could do a lot worse as a follow up. I think him and Payton can still do great damage in this league.

We might find the offensive line is not as good as we thought.

Yep. I think ultra-conservative will end up hurting Jameis in the end. We should be a run first offense, but I'd like to take a few shots intermediate or deep. We have to make the defense worried about receivers getting behind them.
That should open up the offense & make it much easier on Jameis in the long run. I just hope he doesn't miss on all the deeper throws, b/c that will result in too many Morstead appearances.
I trust CSP to come up with a good plan though. He knows more about offense than everyone on this board, & maybe everyone in the NFL.

Right guard is a concern with Ruiz playing but they played well for Teddy last season.

Armstead, Peat, McCoy, & Ramczyk are all playing good right now.
We should be able to find a decent RG out of Ruiz, Easton, & Hurst. I just hope CSP doesn't leave the starting RG in the game if he isn't playing well. We should be pretty confident since we have 3 options to choose from.

Something else to ponder about the Falcons game...We have a good idea about what they're going to do on offense & defense. We probably won't surprise them too much with our defensive strategy, but they can't really break down what they think we'll do on offense very efficiently.
Hopefully CSP takes advantage of Atlanta's uncertainty.

Winston also played in the NFC South his whole career, so is very familiar with the Falcons as well.
