LSU revenue from home games.

Serious question, how is LSU making revenue on home games? Is it just tv money and wouldn't they just get a share of the As EC tv money pot? LSU's cost for security and operations has to be more expensive than the 25k tickets that they sell to home games.

With ticket sales and concessions, LSU still makes a significant amount of money on home games, even with reduced capacity. That is one reason they don't want to cancel. Think of it as a Tulane crowd in a larger stadium.

Tulane has been social distancing for years.

In "normal" years, I think LSU cleared $10M/game in concession/tkt revenue
That is not including ad revenue or in-game readings by Dan B

That number seems pretty reasonable, I wonder how much profit the football program takes home.
Basically I’m wondering what needs to happen to fire Pelini.

I know money is an important part of college football, but this situation is about protecting fans, players and workers from a highly contagious virus and the logistics of rescheduling another game in the middle of Christmas season. College teams will unfortunately just have to take a loss this year, but I feel confident in saying they will have no problem in recouping that money in the future. Those coaches salaries, beautiful locker rooms and stadium expansion weren't paid for using monopoly money.

yeah the big schools will be fine if this is a one year thing. it's the smaller schools we may see go under.

I imagine the money generated from the home games are used to recoup all the losses from no baseball or march madness and to just keep the lights on. i think taf is gonna have to end up footing the bill on Pelini.

Didn’t Woodward report anticipated losses of $80M for athletics? That should tell you all you need to know when they are typically grossing around $110M

Even with only 25% capacity they are still crushing it on those $42 hot dogs

Please explain how LSU recoups the revenue losses and how long will that take?

Budget projections are typically based on the previous year (and years) and trends. I'm sure the projections for revenue were off (budgeted way too high) but I'm sure the expense projections were also off (also budgeted way too high). The end result is basically a flat year against last year (still a cash flow). Keep in mind that most budgets project way more cash flow than the previous year, but almost never would a bad year of revenue result in a negative cash flow unless they way over projected expenses and spent it without re-assessment of the expenses projected.
