Clemson is just as hard to predict of a team as Bama was last year. Sure, if Spiller/Davis play like they did against GT two years ago, then sure, they'll beat Bama. However, if Clemson plays and Davis/Spiller run like they did against GTech 2007 (where they couldn't get a 1st down) or against VTech 2006 or 2007 or against Auburn in the Peach Bowl (Davis/Spiller run for nothing except for Spiller's lone busted play), then Bama could certainly beat Clemson.
With Clemson losing 4 of 5 starting offensive lineman and all starting LB's and now losing one of their best DL for 1/2 the season due to injury, Clemson has just as many question marks as any other ranked team.
Everyone seems to point to Harper, Davis, Spiller etc and talk about how talented Clemson was. However, those same players were on the field against GTech last year and Clemson could only muster 3 points against an average team. Those same players were on the field against VTech last year when Clemson's O couldn't get a 1st down through the entire 1st quarter.
As far as the D, most of Clemson's players return. While they played great for the most part last year, they also made Tashard Choice and Lester of Auburn look like All Americans. If they give up ground, they could make Grant look the same and, if so, Bama surely could beat Clemson just as Auburn, VTech or GT did last year.

Clemson should be able to run all over them. They should win, but they are terrible favorites.

You forget Clemson has no offensive line. Sure their running backs are incredible, but against Va Tech last year Clemson had 8 yards rushing, they had 37 agianst Ga Tech and 60 against Furman. No running back can dominate without blocking. I expect Alabama to win a close one. Besides, Clemson has to lose at least a couple of games they shouldn't.
