but I'm sure Johnny's in North Louisiana will still beat the crap out of it.

From BR Business Report.

Calif. Pizza Kitchen open at Perkins Rowe

California Pizza Kitchen Inc. is opening its first Louisiana location in Perkins Rowe at 4 p.m.

The 5,800-square-foot restaurant is along the center strip of the development across from Cinemark Theaters.

The chain has 201 company-owned and 39 operate franchise or license agreement restaurants.

It specialty is its Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other hearth-baked pizzas, and it also serves pastas, salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts.

Is it any good? It will probably be a madhouse for a while so I'll go in a couple of months.

Not nearly as good as Johnny's in North Louisiana, Italy.

I disagree

A tad overpriced but it's pretty good.

I have eaten there a few times(other locations), and I did not think it was that great. It is better than dominos, CiCi's, and Pizza hut, but that is not saying much.

Go to NY Pizza Co or Deangelo's.

It's not just about the pizza. They have a lot of good things on the menu. Their dumpling are some of the best I have ever had

Love both of those. I'll probably try this at least once though.

Right. With the exception of New Orleans and a handful of other cities, just about every city of any decent size has plenty of chain restaurants that are successful. People talk about it as if Baton Rouge is the only place where chains thrive. Idiots...

You just stated exactly what is wrong with the culinary state of America.

Chain food should not be the norm.

Also, given BR's proximity to cities with great culinary traditions and great fresh ingredients all around us...there is no excuse for that.

What the hell are you talking about...have you been down here since SDT took over clean up after the storm??? You obviously have not.

It is absolutely pathetic if you are food lover to excuse away BR's restaurant scene...but I am probably preaching to the wrong person since you will be in line tonight for some good chain food.
