General thoughts on Cannabis investments

Looking for some lively discussion as we creep through the end of a Friday.
Talking with a friend and he starts in on with all the legalization he thinks Cannabis companies have some upside. Just for fun I look into the “market” and it is all over the place and who knows what is what. It looks like everything has dropped significantly since inception.
I think there are better ways to make money, and told my friend he’s better off selling on the street if he wants a risk reward play with a high enough reward. Hahaha
Any thoughts on the market?

Sure...if you want to make real money, open a dispensary. There is also money to be made in testing facilities because every product sold legally has to be tested.

Bigger money in cultivation if you’re in a medical only state. If you have a dispensary you need rec retail to make real money. Or so I’ve been told.

Invest like during the Gold Rush. Most miners went bankrupt. Money was made with the equipment miners used.

Sounds about right since the states tax the shite out of it. I have a buddy in Bozeman that has been in the cultivation business for a looong time. He's about to open a dispensary there as well. That's where the real money is at...vertical integration.

Get your own dispensary.
Otherwise, it's a crapshoot. No real way to evaluate these companies.

if you are talking about buying cannabis stocks, now is the time.
if you are talking about starting a cannabis business, that time has passed
very shortly big tobacco will take over and that will be that

Made out good the past couple days on ACB. It jumped the most out of the ones I have saved. It will run again if they mention legalization or anything.

My question about these kind of stocks is do you want to buy a Canadian company such as ACB, CGC, or TLRY?
Or would you want to go with an American company such as CRLBF, CURLF, or GTBIF?
The Canadian companies are already listed in the NYSE, but the US companies are still OTC. Doesn't make any sense to me on why that is.
I really think once the US atleast decriminalizes Marijuana that these US based companies will skyrocket. And also if the Senate ever gets their heads out of their asses and passes the SAFE banking act to allow access to banking and credit and the like.
I think this will happen sooner rather than later (not necessarily because of a Biden presidency, that should help though) but because of states desperately needing more money.

That's the one I'm in. It appears they're executing the expansion plan nicely and aren't directly affected by adverse legislation

the house is expected to take up MORE this week. Senate is sitting on SAFE. We need strong support from the chief executive to push these through

The underlying problem with Cannabis growing companies----soon there will be too much production.
Many people see the relaxing of laws concerning cannabis as being good for the existing companies in the production business. The reality is that it will be their death.
When Texas or even Louisiana allows anyone to produce cannabis then cannabis will become a commodity just like corn. The RIO Grande Valley of Texas could provide all the demand for cannabis for the entire USA easily. These greenhouse growers will not stand a chance.
No one has established a cannabis brand that cannot be taken down with cheaper dope.
