Just heard on CNN, no link yet.

Texas Supreme Court said they would be allowed, case then brought to federal court, ruling today was from federal court.

Case can still be appealed.

A federal judge in Texas rejected a GOP-led challenge Monday seeking to invalidate nearly 127,000 drive-thru ballots cast in the Democratic-leaning Houston area.

The lawsuit is a major last-minute challenge to voting rules in closely watched states ahead of the election, in which some officials have made special accommodations amid the coronavirus pandemic. An appeal is possible.
Throughout the hearing, Hanen appeared to grapple with the idea that nearly 127,000 people had already voted in the drive-thru polling centers and whether, if he invalided the process, they would be able to vote on Election Day.

I have no real issue with this. So long as "legit" votes. I am not upset at things being done slightly wonkily given 2020 and shite.

Assuming those break 70-30 for Biden, Trump will only win Texas by 1.5M now.

They're from largely blue Houston.

The argument was that the State Constitution allowed for this ONLY for handicapped voters. Because of "2020", they allowed others to use the method.

What was the argument against it, just seems like another early vote method.

Do not panic people, those 127,000 would have probably voted anyways. Texas does 3 weeks of early voting.

It’s okay we want them to shoot their entire wad so we know what we need in 2022 and 2024

No reason to worry about Tejas this year

While it was a BS call, I do not think they should waste time fighting it. This is not a net 127,000 vote jump for the D party. As long as they do not suspect fraud, let it go.

Thank god

This lawsuit is disgraceful. It's vote suppression. I'm yet to hear who these people are pushing for this, but they should put their faces out there to be shamed publicly. They're doing it for one reason: scared tx will turn blue.

The issues in the case have been out there for months, so to wait to file until the early voting period is a strategy.

There have been issues with people in Harris county fraudulently casting ballots. There was a picture posted of a polling window with a stack of driver's licenses sitting on the desk and they were handing them to people and having them vote using those IDs.

So long as the voters identities are verified, I don't see the big deal in allowing drive thru votes.

I'm curious how it works though. Do you drive up to a kiosk? Or do you fill out on paper?

My Mother in law filled out a paper ballot at a drive through location in Missouri.

I agree. It seems to be a pretty bad look for Texas R's to try this. It'd be one thing if people were allowed to cast ballots in some unverified manner, but I believe restrictions to only allow this for handicapped were put in place because of the resources required and wait times. I don't see how drive thru voting would be significantly less secure than walk-up voting.

For those clowns downvoting me: please explain why you side with the snakes pushing to have these votes thrown out?

My sister voted at one of these locations, it's legit. You still have to show your ID just like any other location. Odds are most of these votes are for Biden. Aside from that obvious, why do you want them thrown out?

This is an awful look by labeling the suit as being backed by GOP people. It's another bullet people can use in their ammunition of saying R's and Trump will lie, steal, and cheat.
