Was dislocated. I have personally experienced this and I have to say it is very painful. It was 7 weeks before I was able to run and even then I was still having fluid drained on weekly basis. Not good for USC if you ask me. LINK

Not as bad as first thought--so far

Mark Sanchez dislocated his left knee cap at Friday’s practice, but it went right back into place and there are no other complications, Coach Pete Carroll said minutes ago after hearing the diagnosis from team doctors.

Sanchez will begin rehabilitation on Monday and his status will be day-to-day from there, Carroll added.
“This is great news for what happened,” Carroll said. “Mark’s encouraged, he’s smiling and he knows he’s going to be alright.”

Looks like we might not need him as a starter (hopefully)--just yet. It will be great to have him take some reps wiht the #1 team though.

I know a few people who have suffered this injury. Each one took a good amount of time to fully recover. I would think this puts Mustain starting atleast the first game of the season. Hope he can recover well.

you are delusional is you think sanchez isn't done for a good while.

i've taken care of many patients who have dislocated their knee's.

these were marines too, not sissy's.

they took about 2 months to be back around "100 percent"

mitch mustain is your guy now.

The injury may be more of a subluxation than a true dislocation. Word is that there is no soft tissue damage which by definition isn't true with a dislocation.

We're now faced with the prospect of using a 2nd string QB who won 8 games as a true freshman SEC QB.

It could be worse.

The third string guy might be better than Mustain. Aaron Corp looked the best out of any of the 3 QB's in the Spring Game.

Also, WR Garrett Green will probably have to move back to QB now. He did throw a TD pass in the Rose Bowl vs. Illinois, but he didn't do it as a QB (trick play).

Is Mitch's Mother in contact with Coach Carroll? I see a feud brewing in SC if Mitch does not start.

The USC vs Virginia spread was around 21 last time I saw. I think Sanchez being out will drop that quite a bit.

Hey, I'm liking our chances more and more for the upset! Go Hoos

It certainly disrupts the spring training reps and installation of the offense/ rhythm. I have changed my opinion of the OSU game outcome based on this injury. I think this gives OSU a slight edge now.

Does it really matter? What I am saying is that, despite the mother issue, MM is a good QB and I do not see that much of a dropoff. Yeah Sanchez has gametime experience, but wasn't one of those games Stanford? The USC QB just has to be smart this year and hand the ball / throw screens to Joe McKnight and they should still walk through the Pac-10.

No. JDB played the entire game. We only wish Sanchez got in that game.

According to Sachez's dad he's only expected to be out about 4 weeks.

This could actually turn out to be a good thing for SC if Sanchez makes it back. Now all of a sudden you have two or maybe three guys that took a lot of snaps with the starters instead of just one.

Only sec QB to go 8-0 as a starter. Granted he had mcfadden/jones behind him.

Of course the renters went to jail, but I wish I were one of them, do you blame
them?

I wish. SC would have won if Booty had taken himself out and let Sanchez play

a dislocated knee cap is far less serious than a dislocated knee wihch can if not treated promptly cause loss of the leg
