Correct. Masks are a constant reminder that we are in the middle of a serious pandemic and that we have to wear masks because OMB did nothing.
If we went about our lives without masks, we’d quickly do the math in our heads and realize that the Chinese Virus isn’t as bad as we are told by those in power. The old normal would become the new normal and we’d move on.
People wear masks out of fear, plain and simple. They don’t give a rat’s arse about passing the virus to others; they want to save their own narcissistic lives.
Protect the vulnerable? Has anyone asked “the vulnerable” if they want to be protected? I bet that many elderly citizens would want younger people to enjoy things the way they enjoyed them when they were younger. Church services, weddings, high school proms, Thanksgiving with the extended family, going to the beach, etc. - are “the vulnerable” really that greedy or uncaring? I think not.

Because the cure should not be worse than the disease. Masks are just one overreach of authority among many during 2020.
Making 100% of the population wear masks in order to control a virus that has a 99+% survival rate is dystopian. If you value freedom, liberty, and individual choice about what happens to you and your body (abortion? sexual preferences?) how can you support a regime telling you how to protect yourself or your family from a virus whether it is a cold, flu or even covid? The government does not always know best, right? What's next, forced flu vaccinations? Mandatory abortions if it is in the public interest? Where does it stop?

Left minded people hate individual choice. Remember back in elementary school. There were always those who would tattle on you if you stepped outside of the rules whatsoever. They thrived on the feeling of being a useful tool to the authority figure.
It is something that is ingrained in them at a young age. Increased Indoctrination and confirmation bias in the modern age via academia , msm, and social media has taken that ingrained characteristic and given it super fuel to make their love of authority 10x what it would have been 20 years ago.
In sum, they love authority and hate anyone who questions it.

I drove Uber/Lyft for 8 months and never once thought about my pax wearing a mask. I wouldn’t hesitate to do so again to feed my family. You people are a bunch of gaping pussies worried about a virus that’s harmless to 99% of the population.
