Loved keystone this year. Ski Wild Irishman and Haywood for me. We did night skiing there on Valentines day and it was a blast.

Trying to make a quick trip to Denver next week with the storm coming through over the weekend. Anyone been to Winter Park? How does it compare to Breck or Copper? I'm looking at resorts east of the divide as they're projected to get multiple feet of snow across Saturday and Sunday.

Winter Park is great. Mary Jane side is awesome. I prefer it over Breck from an overall mountain/crowd perspective

Last Thursday, everything lined up to climb and ski off the Grand Teton under beautiful weather and fresh snow. Dreams realized, and goals achieved.

5 pitches of technical ice climbing
5 rappels during descent
7400ft+ of elevation gain
16 miles
17.5 hours car-to-car

Picture taken from the Middle Teton. My two friends and I ascending the final snow pitches of the Grand Teton.

What are everyone's thoughts on Ikon vs. Epic for someone living in Denver?

It’s kinda a wash depending on the person and what’s important to you.

Epic gives you more mountains close with Keystone, Breck, Vail & BC.

But you have some gems to avoid traffic with Ikon in Eldora & WP. Going up to steamboat for the weekend is always great as well.

I like Ikon because it gives you options with less traffic. If you go epic you 100% have to go into summit county.

I think I agree with you. Think we’ll end up going w/ Ikon next year. Thanks!

I had both this year due to a variety of reasons. The majority of my commute days were at Winter Park and my overnights were at Vail and CB (I’ve done 7 days at Epic so the math worked out). I also found that besides Steamboat, most people from out of town go to Epic spots; link up with those people a few times and you are close to breakeven.

But if you going for single day from Denver, Winter Park is the best option I think.

I hope to one day be able to afford both passes.

I've heard a lot of amazing things about CB and Vail. Breck is also an awesome town. We have friends who have a condo in PC too. I'm hoping to try out Epic next year if we don't fall in love w/ Ikon too bad!

I prefer the Ikon but ultimately it boils down to what your friends are doing and if you want to take a trip somewhere to a place that isn't exactly nearby; i.e.

Decided to stay in Frisco next week and ski two days. Where would y'all pick out of Copper, Breck, Keystone, A-Basin? We are also fine splitting up the two days at different mountains.

I've ski'd both Copper and Breck many times. It's been at least 9-10 years since I've been to Keystone (went in college and don't remember much), and I've never been to A-Basin.

I want to mix up the sport climbing with some alpine action and have both the winds and Tets on the list. I'd be comfortable on anything from the classic 5.6's up to Black Elk

We are going to copper and loveland in a couple weeks. Never been to either of those. Never been to A-basin but from what I've gathered it's pretty advanced terrain. We just skied breck for 4 days between Xmas and new yrs.. We skied 2 days at keystone over vday weekend. I cant recommend keystone enough. I'm not sure your skill level but it seemed to have plenty for all levels. It wasn't as crowded to me as breck and the runs seemed longer. It was perfect for 2 days of skiing for us.

My comment wasn’t meant to be an OT subtle brag, just my perspective from having flexibility. You absolutely are making the right decision going with Ikon.

If you are at least solid intermediates A-Basin would be worth it. As has been said here before the mountain is no joke but if you can ski it there is much fun to be had along with some great views.

Starting my Pacific Northwest journey tomorrow, 4 days at Bachelor and then two at Crystal. I just hope the winds stay calm enough at Bachelor that I can ski the summit at least a day or two.

They were only forecasting 0.5" snow for Park City. Woke up this morning, and we somehow got almost a foot. Beautiful conditions today. I hiked Jupiter Peak twice and sent it through the chutes. The glades off McConkey's have been tons of fun as well.
