Astros truly didn't deserve to tank all year and then flip a switch.
I think you’re right in theory. But the Astros won 14 more games than the team that beat them last year and the home field literally was worth nothing. I have to think the “what was it all for?” mentality set in. I don’t like that philosophy at all but I’m sure the “numbers” are saying just do enough to get in.
It’s the only way I can explain some of the lineups we saw in a 60 game season.

As a baseball fan I am pretty excited for a Rays Braves WS.
I’m not convinced that LA won’t turn the NLCS around starting tonight. It would be very on brand for an Atlanta team to piss down their legs with a huge lead.

A shifted Joe Morgan just dove to his right and snagged a smash off George’s bat, then threw him out from his back.

It would also be very on brand for LA to choke in the post-season.
They are my two least favorite NL teams... but lately I hate the Dodgers more, so I'm hoping the Braves pull it out.

Baws we come together in difficult times to ask the baseball Gods to cleanse us of our sins and lift this curse from upon our house. We ask that the God of Golden Gloves finds our pittance paid and sees fit to let balls land where they may and that he might let Jose Altuve throw to the bases again. Lest their anger not be satisfied, we offer up our dear backup catcher Dustin Garneau in sacrifice.

Yeah, I for sure dislike the Dodgers more. That being said, I don't need a bunch of baws down here dusting off their Barves hats and regaling me with tales of watching muh superstation. Guess I'll be on the Rays.

No doubt.
Unless the Astros pull off a miracle here I'll be hoping the Rays win it all.

What are the odds this is the last time we see George Springer in a Astros jersey?

100% I told yall weeks ago he sold his house and moved to CT. Me and other posters who live in his "neighborhood" have confirmed this

It was neither good nor a season.

I agree.
But 11-year old me did follow the 1982 Braves pretty closely and root for them to win. The Astros sucked that year.
I still contend that the 1982 Braves were the worst division winner ever. Yeah Murphy and Horner were legit, but they sent out a lineup most days that included Rafael Ramirez, Glenn Hubbard, Bruce Benedict and an aging Chris Chambliss.
And their best pitcher was a 90-year old knuckleballer.

Damn its gonna hurt to see George to go. Him and Altuve helped start the Astros rebirth into being competitive.

No reason to doubt that about he and Brantley, but relocating isn’t necessarily the end all for Houston as an option for either of them
The market will be a small factor, but I am more inclined to agree that the Astros will let him walk with the resurgence of Correa. He has proven to be healthy and a leader on and off the field.
With 5 elite SS’s hitting the market at the same time after next season, I expect the Astros to be able to sign him reasonably, esp w the money coming off the books at that time.
I expect Springer and Brantley to get offers nonetheless, but not market value. And I also expected Morton to get signed a couple seasons ago, so...........

Diddly, you are personally responsible for this Braves postseason collapse
In a series with so much destiny involved, you antagonized the baseball gods inadvertently
We all saw it. Your assumption made an arse out of you and the Braves.
And I was pulling for them. You live and you learn. Or you die
